He stirred in the beginning of the world

peered at where rising ape met falling angel

He looked for a home as he unfurled

The naked apes will be something special

They built an idea a palace of gilt

He laughed gleefully at the prayers

They killed non-believers, swords down to the hilt

He smote, they were worshippers and slayers

They learned that their prayers were futile

They stopped believing one by one, all gone

The god withered away, a death brutal

A new god received the church and the crown

A footnote in a religion textbook

Be ever wary of a god that is a crook
