"You truly believe that at 16 years old, he'll make it in this profession?" Lucifer argued quietly. "I have an extremely valid point, Joseph. He is simply not ready to roam in an entirely different dimension.
He's far too irresponsible to take care of his own dog, let alone the utter existence of human kind."

Lucius, Lucifer's son, looked down and clenched his jaw. He'd been listening in on the conversation. A taunting feeling of disappointment filled his psyche.

"Lucifer... I suggest you let him go. Keeping him in locked away in his room, away from his responsibilities on Earth, is inhumane.

A small chuckle escaped Lucifer's lips as he responded sarcastically. "Well good thing we're not human then, right?"

"No! I refuse to let him do what I've done to my wife to that poorgirl." The stories he told Lucius about his mother echoed in his head. The wayhe described her, the way he captured every detail showed how much he missedher.

"What happened to Helena was not your fault, and you can't keep your ownson locked in the underworld forever. He's starting tomorrow, no one canconvince me otherwise"

He anticipated his father leaving the room, so he ran to his door and shut it behind him quietly. With one hand he turned on the light, and with the other he grabbed a thick book from his desk. "act natural" he thought to himself, casually laying down on the bed with his book open. He could hear Joseph's footsteps becoming louder.

"Lucius?" He sat up quickly and faced the door. "Yes, come in." He said. Joseph looked at him and smiled brightly. "Ah, Lucius. I'm sure you've been awaiting my visit. Don't you think it's time to start your quest?"

His mind begins to fill with ideas of what this adventure holds. However, his father doesn't believe he can do it. 'Why should I think otherwise?' "Joseph, do you really have faith in me? Do you really think I'm not going to disappoint my father more than I already have?" He asked.

"Yes, I believe you will go out there, guard your human, and make your father proud." He thought for a short while before agreeing to guarding a girl named Dakota Marie. Here, his journey began.
