You were frolicking around in the park, being the usual 7-year old that you were until you tripped over and landed right next to a little tree sapling, only as big as your hand. You admired it, you thought the leaves were so beautiful, you just HAD to take it home. You grabbed a cup you were drinking out of a while ago, you scooped the plant in your hands, making sure to collect all of its small roots and a bit of extra soil before carefully placing it into the cup. you ran to the nearest water fountain and sprayed some water into it. Later that day, you took it home with you and your mother helped you plant it right outside your home. you visited it every day to water it and love it.
Your classmates at school didn't care about your new friend, they said it was a "stupid story, it's just a tree," They already knew that you loved nature, the people that didn't know thought you were weird and didn't want to hang out or be near you at all. You went home that day miserable, but instead of talking to your mother about it, you went outside and talked to your sapling. It felt nice, expressing your feelings to somebody that doesn't talk, you know it can't say anything rude to you, it can only listen. You stayed with the tree all day, telling it facts about you and what school was like.
you lay down and stare at the sky, the sunset colours remind you of autumn leaves. You smiled and listened to the birds softly sing, the song filled your heart with joy and made you sleepy. You were so calm, you didn't even hear your mother calling out to you for dinner until she waked up to you and tapped the back of your shoulder. You told the tree that you had to go and you'll see them in the morning.
