That was when everything escalated. I stood at the top of the stairs and started crying. As I walked down the stairs, I could hear Noah and Ryan's voices getting softer, so I knew that they could hear me.
"What's wrong Skyler?" Ryan asked.
I started crying harder as I screamed at them. "How, why, why did this happen to us. What did we do so wrong that we had to be punished by god. And Noah, it's like you don't even care. You've gone on with your life like nothing ever happened. In case you forgot, our parents are dead, they are never coming back."
They both just sat there starring at me with blank faces. Then Noah spoke up. "You think that I don't know that! Oh, and just so you know, I do care, the only reason I don't cry, the only reason I don't mope around is because I want to stay strong for you."
I ran straight into Noah's arms. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean anything, I've just reached my breaking point." "It's fine Sky, I know you didn't mean anything."
I walked back up stairs and went into my room. As I sat on my bed, I could hear Ryan pacing outside my door. knock knock knock. "Come in Ryan." "How did you know it was me?" "I could hear you pacing outside the door, you're the only one who does that." We both started laughing.
"Why don't we go for a walk?" Ryan said. I got up as I wiped the tears from my face.
We walked out the door and headed for the paths in our woods. We had been walking for a while when Ryan reach down and grabbed my hand.
I looked at him and he just smiled and kept walking.
When we reached the opening, I started to remember where I was. Noah, Ryan, and I used to always come back here to hang out. We built a tree house there when we were younger, and everytime one of us were having bad day, we would go back there to relax.
Ryan let go of my hand and led me up the tree house. I got to the top after Ryan, to find him holding a rose in his hand.
"Will you go out with me?"
