I walked down the street, kicking the rocks that were in my way, I slid my feet on the ground, trying to take as long as I could to get home.

It was no use because I was at my home in a few minutes.

I walked in the front door, knowing what was coming. I tried to close the door as quietly as possible, it didn't work. I turned around to see my mother, right in front of me with a belt in her hand.

She looked at me and tapped her foot on the wooden floor.

"Lesane Parish Crooks!" She yelled out my full name. "What is this I hear about fighting?!"

[ a/n Tupac's real name is Lesane Parish Crooks ]

I looked down at the crack in our floor, not wanting to lift my head or say a word.

"I'm sorry, momma. They were talking about you, so I had to make them stop." I replied.

She shook her head and hit me with the belt, she pointed to my room. I ran to my room without looking back and slammed the door. I swear I hate living in this house sometimes. I sat on my bed and pulled out my notebook from under my bed.

I scribbled down some things and put it back under my bed. Billy, my step father walked in and looked at me, I sighed and he walked over to me.

"Lesane, you can't be fighting everyone just because they do something you don't like." He raised his fist. "Be strong."

He walked out of my room, I laid down and thought about what he said. Be strong.

I was suspended from school, so I had to stay home for three days. I'll be back on Friday, I have to be strong. Billy usually went to work and my mom is always gone during the day, I don't know what she does.

No one was home and my baby sister doesn't get home until three. I pulled a grey sweater over my head and walked out the front door, I locked it and began to walk down the street.

Everyone was at school so there was nothing much to do, I walked to the end of my street. Suddenly a moving truck pulled into a house, two houses down from mine, I walked back home to try to see who was moving in.

I walked passed the peach-colored house, looking hard for someone. A girl jumped out of the back of the moving truck, her caramel skin was perfect. She was wearing a blue shirt with some black shorts, she looked-- perfect.

I couldn't help but stare at her.

She caught me looking at her and rolled her eyes. I quickly snapped out of my trance and walked faster to my house. But, I couldn't stop thinking about that girl. She's perfect.

I got to the front door, I felt around my pockets for my key, they weren't there. I looked around in the flour pots for an extra key but there wasn't one to be found. I sighed and jumped the fence to my backyard, I slowly opened my sister's window and hopped through.

I went back into my room and began to write in my notebook.

From first glance I know exactly what would Be

u and I have perfect hearts destined one day 2 Be

The circumstances don't even matter because my heart never lies

And if u don't admit 2 this it is u who will be surprised

I titled it From First Glance and closed my notebook.
