"Right this way , the plane takes off in an hour so , we will be waiting in the waiting room for gateway 11" our escort , Lisa says in a very preppy tone.
You see the tricky thing with airport employees is that they are 1 of 3 things. 1 is that they'll be super preppy and smiley and they're legit trying to be polite or 2 they'll be super preppy and smiley but they're really thinking 'I want to kill you'. But the worst is 3 , they aren't preppy or smiley at all. They're in fact the exact opposite , they have this rude tone and expression which all seem to scream 'hey! I'm under payed , tired , hungry , I don't really want to be here right now and my shift doesn't end for another hour so you better not cause trouble'.
I'm pretty sure Lisa was somewhere in between , smiley and preppy , trying to be polite , really doesn't want to be stuck with us , not wanting us to cause trouble. I think that's pretty fair.
The 3 of us will be having a layover in heathrow airport in London , England . Since my mum is from England I've been quite a few times. It's huge. I can't believe they didn't just make us have a layover at London city airport. We'll have another escort there instead of Lisa (hopefully a 1). Then after our 5 hour layover we will be taking a plane to Zurich airport. We'll meet the families that we're staying with there. Then they'll drive us to wherever their house is.
That is what we want to accomplish in the next 20 hours.
How do I know this? Well it takes 9h and 50 min from Ottawa , Canada to Zurich , Switzerland. Round that to 10 plus a 5 hour layover plus the 1 hour were spending here plus whatever amount of time it takes to find our luggage in Zurich plus however long it takes to find the families and how long it takes to get to their house plus if the plane takes a little extra time to arrive anywhere (which it usually does).
That will probably take around 20h or so.

The 3 of us sit in a row. I'm on the outer left , Stefan is in the middle and Liam is on the outer right.
Stefan immediately takes out a notebook and pencil and starts to draw something , 100% chance it's manga. He also puts his Monster headphones on and starts listening to something , probably three days grace or Billy Talent.
Liam takes out his headphones and plugs it into the headphone part of the mini television screen and starts watching something.
I whip out my headphones and start listening to Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheran. I also open my reading glasses case put my glasses on and crack open Looking For Alaska for the 10th time.

*about to land in Zurich*
"Everyone please buckle your seat belts for we will be landing in 5 minutes. It is 11:43 and we are 7 minutes off schedule , sorry for the inconvenience" our pilot quickly says in English and another language that I assume is Swiss.
I close Looking For Alaska and put away my reading glasses but keep my headphones on and buckle my seat belt exactly like the pilot said. Stefan puts away his phone that he was playing on and continues to listen to music. Liam shuts off the small television , glances at me then plugs in his headphones and starts listening to music.
What a copy cat.
We wait for the slow pokes ahead of us to leave for a bit until I get fed up and just push through them all with Liam and Stefan trailing behind me.
We get off the plane and I automatically feel less claustrophobic and more free. Our escort seems a little angry that we pushed through the crowd like that. But she doesn't ditch us , instead she leads us to our luggage and then finally to the spot where we meet our 'family'.
A chubby 12 year old , with bleached blonde hair that is in somewhat of a bob with side bangs and 2 pieces of hair , 1 on each side that are longer than the rest , like down to her hips long. She's wearing tight pink jeans and a black long sleeve sweater that has lace sleeves. She stands beside a man I assume is her father , who has a hooked nose and dark brown hair that is in a buzz cut. He looks very strict and military like. His wife is a slightly chubby woman with bleached blonde hair that's down to her shoulders , lots of make up , a black leather jacket and a pale purple dress that hits just above her knees. She's 43 and trying to look 23 , there's something not right about that. I look over at Stefan who has a teenage boy with light brown hair and electric blue eyes with a friendly smile , a father who has dark salt and pepper hair and brown eyes. A mother who has the same smile as the boy , with curly shoulder length blonde (natural or at least not fake white) with electric blue eyes. There's also a cute little 5 year old girl wearing a long sleeved sweater dress , she's most likely adopted considering that she looks Asian , with her dark almond eyes and black shoulder length hair with bangs. Liam has a teenage girl who has dark brown hair a bit past her shoulders and round hazel eyes. Her mother looks a little older with her dark hair with peppered grey in a bob , she has the same round eyes but they're green instead. She must be a single mom or widow because there's only the 2 of them.
How is it I end up with the weird ones!
