"Mmmphh" Groaning, I slump over and repeatedly slam my hand on the snooze button of my buzzing alarm clock until I heard the faint thumping sound of the clock hitting the floor behind my nightstand.

I bent down to retrieve the clock and my eyes widen on the time.

Fuck! I overslept!

I rush over to my bathroom where I quickly brush my teeth then hop into the shower. I hastily scrub myself clean and grab my towel.

Huh. 9 minutes. Record time.

While drying off, I grab a loose shirt and black jeans and throw them on. I grab my favorite black combat boots and tie them up while trying to brush my tangled mess I call my hair at the same time.

I snatch my backpack from on top of my desk and run down the stairs, taking two at a time. I quickly shove a granola bar in my mouth and grab my car keys from the rack. Before forgetting, I grab my green military jacket from the hook and throw it on while sprinting towards my car.

I throw my backpack in the passenger seat of my car. When I'm finally in the driver's seat, I glance at the time.

7:47. Not bad.

Fuck, what am I forgetting?

"Shit, Dad's gonna be pissed I didn't make him breakfast" I mutter while starting the car.

I contemplate going back but I decide against it and rush out my driveway. I nearly broke the speeding limit in my attempt to get to school fast, but thankfully, I made it.

My car beeped behind me as I run to the main entrance. My boots thump on each step as I make my way to my locker. Quickly entering the combination, I pull the book for my next class, AP English and slam the door shut.

My mind is all over the place right now, so not thinking, I slam into something, or rather someone who feels like a brick wall. Groaning, I raise my head for my eyes to meet a pair of mystifying sea-green orbs I could get lost in for hours. I feel like my eyes are betraying me with the godly looking man standing in front of me. His tight white shirt accentuates his muscles, and his black jeans and old worn-out Vans simply complement his look.

Shaking myself out of my daze, I retrieve my fallen books and stand up, dusting myself off.

"Watch where you're going," His ice cold tone shocks me. I scoff and shake my head. Cause god forbid it's actually his fault too.

As I walk off, I couldn't help but notice his muscular figure strut down the empty hallways of our depressing school. After one last glance, I keep telling myself, he's probably trouble, get your mind off of him.

But the entire day, I couldn't. I couldn't get my mind off him.

During lunch, I bought my food and sat down next to my best friend, Cassidy. Although she was talking about this new TV show she discovered, my mind still stays on the mysterious stranger I met in the hallway.

I've never seen him before, so he has to be new...

My train of thoughts is broken as Cassidy's waving hands came into view.

"Sorry what?" I glance towards her to watch her eyes narrow.

"Ally?! You have been out of it all day. Is something wrong?" She questions.

Yes. Everything is wrong. If only you knew Cass.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong. I just met this guy tha-"

"OHMYGOD! YOU MET A GUY!!" I cover my ears at her shrieking. Man, this girl can scream.

"Calm down will you?! Yeah.. he bumped into me this morning. He must be new because I haven't seen him here before." I mumble as I crane my neck trying to discreetly search for him in the maze of our school cafeteria. My eyes lock in on a lone table with the mysterious guy and another guy. Cass follows my gaze and lets out a low whistle.

"That's Axel Reed," She says nodding her head in his direction.  "He's in a couple of my classes. Total sex bomb, but no one has any idea where he's from." I cringe at her vocabulary. Sex bomb?

"Please don't ever use that word again," I tell Cass while she just laughs.

My eyes are still captivated by Axel. He apparently notices my gaze and shoots me a daunting smirk.

I break off my gaze and look down to hide the blood rushing to my cheeks, tinging them a light pink.

As if on cue, the school bell rings, signifying sixth period. Oh, thank god! I sigh in relief as I stand up to throw my trash away and head over to my sixth period, Art class.

I enter the classroom and take my seat in the second row as students file in after me. The teacher, Mrs. Morales struts into class and sets her heavy binder on her desk. The thing that pales my face is who walks in after her. None other than Axel Reed.

"Good afternoon everyone! I'd like to introduce our new student, Axel Reed to this class. Now Axel, why don't you sit....." Mrs. Morales's gaze wanders around the class before zeroing on the empty seat next to me "next to Allison in the second row."

I scrunch my eyes in frustration as he takes his seat next to me, a smirk still lingering on his face. I just can't get a break, can I?

He tries to say something but I interrupt him before he could get a word out. "No. Just keep your distance and we'll be fine. Okay?"

"But where would the fun in that be?" It's as if he's teasing me. I shake my head in frustration before something that Mrs. Morales says catches my interest.

"...and this will be part of your semester art project, which counts for thirty percent of your grade. This will be a team project-" The entire class erupts into excited whispers. "in which I will be choosing your partners," She announces, at which the whole class simultaneously groans, as if on cue. "Your partner will be the person sitting next to you. No switching."

Are you fucking serious?

"I'm afraid your idea doesn't seem to be an option," His hot, minty breath lingers on the side of my neck as he leans back in his chair, letting a smug smile spread across his face.

I'm screwed, aren't I?
