Ellie is a young 11 year old born deaf and adopted by Alex and Emily Beyer. Tragically she had also witnessed the fire of Alex's wife. Ellie was a gift to Abby after she found out she could have no more children. She has gone through a hard time in her foster home before she was adopted because no one was able to communicate with her, none of them new sign language like she did. Nobody would adopt her for that specific reason. But Alex's first words when he laid eyes on her, 'she's perfect' gave her a home and a loving family.
