Empathy

MARLENE'S POV

I got out of the Hogwarts Express, said goodbye to Alice and Lily, my best friends, and we went our separate ways. I was abou to apparate home when I saw a familiar face: Sirius Black

I don't know what got over me but I started walking towards me, and when I was facing him I asked: Are you OK?

He looked at me, smiled and replied: I just haven't got anywhere to go, my parents disowned me, I have been living with the Potter's ever since and now they are moving houses and my bedroom still isn't ready for me to live in, so... I'm here alone

At that moment I felt something I thought I would never feel towards Sirius Black, not fury, not anger, not frustraition: It was empathy. My mum was disowned, my dad was a Death Eater and my little brother was sent to a muggle orphanage as he was only 14. The only people I had were my friends.

I immediatley made a decision : You can come live with me- I said.

Sirius simply looked at me and asked: Are you sure?

Yes - I replyed

He asked; Where do you live?

I live in a small apartment in London, by myself, but I usually stay with my friends, mostly with Lily and Alice but ocasionally I stay with James. - I told him

James? You call him James? - Sirius asked

Yes, I'm a pureblood, he's a pureblood, we're cousins- I told him

McKinnon's and Black's are one of the exeptions. - he said

Cool. Let's go now! - I said, he took my hand and we apparated to my appartment. It was really small, it only had two bedrooms, one medium toilet, one kitchen and a broom cupboard, I was planning on moving when I finished Hogwarts.

I showed Sirius his room and told him: I'm 'gonna get dinner, you coming?

Yeah, sure - he replied

We went downstairs and entered a supermarket, I asked him what he wanted and he said Pizza, so we went to the Frozen Pizza isle but it was too much work, so I told him: There's a pizza restaurant down this road, let's go there.

When we got to the restaurant we ordered pizza, when it came we took it and went home.

After dinner...

MARLENE'S POV

I showed Sirius his room and told him: I'm 'gonna get dinner, you coming?

Yeah, sure - he replied

It's only 9PM, want to watch a movie? - I asked Sirius

Sure, what will we watch? - he asked me

Good question, hum...... What about a documentary about Newt Scamander's life, I think it's called Fanatastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - I told him

You've been spending too much time with Evans- Sirius jokes

*after the movie*

It's 10PM. At what time do you normally get to sleep on a holiday? - I ask him

About 11PM- Sirius replies

Let's get to know each other, a kind of quiz- I suggest

Great Idea- he replies

You start- I tell him

How man brothers and sisters do you have? I have one, Regulus- he says

I have 2 brothers and 1 sister, my sister is called Cassopeia, she's a Death Eater, my brother is Marius, he was killed by Cassopeia and my little brother is Martin. - I reply, trying to hold back my tears.

 Are you alergic to something? - I ask

 No - he replies

 I'm alergic to pistachios - I reply

PISTACHIOS??????? - he yells

Yes, why? - I ask him

I Looooooooveeeeeee pistachios! - he yells again

The pistachios, or me, you choose - I tell him

As long as I love food, I prefer you. - Sirius says smiling

Do you have a girlfriend? - I ask

I'm Sirius Black, I've never had a girlfriend.  What about you, do you have a boyfriend? - Sirius replies/asks

No - I reply

Then, out of nothing Sirius Black asks me:

Do you want to be my girlfriend?
