I hesitated as I began to walk down the dimly lit gate. My emotions were all over the place, nervous, scared, excited, happy, but all I knew Is that I wanted to be in your arms as soon as possible. I finally emerged from the exit of the gate, my eyes adjusting to the new ambience. It didn't take me long at all to find you in the crowd. After all, you're an angel among mere mortals.
We stared into each other's eyes from across the crowd, neither of us moving, or breathing really. Both of our minds running at a million miles an hour, not sure what to do next. As I made a step forward, you began running towards me, until you were in my arms, face buried in my gray hoodie, arms wrapped tightly around me. I hugged you tight and we just stood there for what seemed like eternity. Being in your arms was everything I dreamed it would be like, I could even feel your heartbeat against my chest, or maybe mine was just beating that hard.
"Hello, beautiful" I said with a smile that hurt my cheeks, breaking the silence.
"Hi" You said, looking up at me, tears of joy in your eyes as you continued to hug me with everything you had in you.
As we finally let go of each other and began heading to the parking deck, I slid my hand down over yours, locking our fingers together, as your face instantly turned red again. We held hands all the way to your car, only letting go when we got into the car. You didn't say much during the drive to your flat, but I knew you were as happy as I was. The funny thing is, I don't think you knew that you were smiling as hard as you were. Every few minutes I'd see you try to wipe it off of your face, but every time you'd look over at me it would just creep back over your sweet, soft lips.
"So are you just going to ignore me for four weeks?" I teased you, trying to get you comfortable.
"Of course not" You rolled your eyes as you went to open your door.
But I didn't let you open your door. I quickly jumped out of mine and went around the car to yours, opening it and gently taking your hand in mine to help you out of the car. I don't think I've ever seen you that red or smile that big. As we climbed the stairs to your flat I couldn't help but think of how lucky I was to have a woman like you. Every boyfriend says this but not many mean it like I do; you're perfect in every way, and the sweetest woman I've ever met.
It was already getting dark, so we decided to stay in for the night. I didn't want you to have to cook for us on our first night together, so we just ordered a pizza. It was a lot colder in London than it was in America, and we ended up under a blanket, eating our pizza, but not cuddling sadly. I think we were both still very shy around one another, I'm surprised we were under the same heavy, white blanket. You weren't eating much at all, which I had gotten used to it, but now that we were together I could actually do something about it. I scooted closer to you, your eyes drifting from the TV to mine. My hand drifted under the blanket, resting on your side as you flinched. You do have one weakness babygirl, you're ticklish.
"Are you going to take a few more bites, or am I going to have to make you" I said as a smirk crawled over my face.
"Don't you dare" You glared at me, biting your lip. Which I don't think you even knew you were doing. There was a lot of lip biting that night.
"Come on babygirl, for me?" I begged, trying to look pitiful as you rolled your eyes.
You still refused to eat, so I had to resort to plan B. My fingers began tickling your side, and your adorable giggles and squirming under the blanket followed. My assault continued as your laughing got louder, and you tried to get up off the couch, but not before I could wrap my other arm around you and hold you there.
"Fine, fine, give me the stupid pizza" You finally agreed, taking the pizza from the side table and taking a few more bites.
"Mm, thank you baby" I said, my arms still wrapped around you.
We kind of froze in that position, eyes locked together, my arms around your waist, both of us half laying down on the couch. We stayed like that for the rest of the night, getting a little more comfortable before falling asleep.
An alarm went off on your phone, waking us both up as the morning sun blinded us. We were laying there facing each other, my arms wrapped around you. We'd talked about this moment too many times to count. Being able to wake up to each other.
As I looked into your beautiful eyes, I slowly began to close mine and move my lips towards you, to wish you a good morning.
