Run. That's the only word going through my head at this moment. The further I run, the longer it will take to find me. The faster I go, the slower they'll seem to catch up. The rain splashed against my body, my bare feet covered in mud and cut slightly by sharp rocks and fallen branches. I had never seen a storm this frightening.
I had learned to hide well, ever since my older sister taught me to play hide and seek. "Always hide where no one would dare look. Fear can't find you if you're hidden too well." She would tell me. I've lived with this advice for seven years. I only found out why hiding was so important yesterday. Government officials came into our home. They took my sister, I didn't know why. I was terrified. My back was to the cold cardboard of a small box in the corner of the attic. I wasn't found, but picked up.
I was carried from my home, dragged away into a dark storage facility where i made my escape into the forest to the west of town. I've been running for so long, my feet are sore, but I dare not stop. There is no doubt in my mind they're trying to find me. However, they can't find me if i'm incapable of knowing my own location. "You can never be found if you can't find yourself." Another quote from my sister. Only luck has kept me alive so far.
