It all started when I had just arrived home back from school, it was 7:45 to be exact. I directly went to take a bath as usual and after that I immediately went to my room to change clothes, it had been a few minutes before my mom suddenly decided to open the door just to check on me again.

"The window is open and the curtains are pulled back? Junri, I always told you to close them. People can see you here, you know?" She told me, her hands on her waist as she shook her head at me in slight disappointment.

I let out a groan as I closed the windows but allowed the curtains to stay as they were, "You pretty much tell me that all the time, but who the heck is gonna see me here? Seriously." I told her, standing back as I pointed at the view of the apartment windows on the other building opposite of ours which most of the time, rarely showed anyone at all.

She breathed out a sigh which was followed with a shrug, "Well then, suit yourself. But don't say that I didn't warn you." That's when she finally decided to close the door.

I rolled my eyes to the side in frustration, "How annoying." I thought to myself, just as I was able to open  up my laptop to continue on my essay that was due for tomorrow —— I ended up staying way past midnight, but I was able to finish regardless.

Everything was ready for me to go to bed. I shut my laptop off then turned off the lights and was about to go to bed, but that was when my curiousity got to the best of me. I walked up to my window, and looked out of it.

To my slight astonishtment I was faced with a person's silhouette standing near the window of the building that was opposite of mine, it appeared as if the person — who was now beginning to come off as a man, was staring right at me. It was absolutely creepy, but I could definitely feel it.

I couldn't take the staring any longer, so I quickly pulled the curtains over to cover the window, I headed straight for bed and pulled back the blankets over my head, hoping to myself that was I saw was just an illusion, an illusion that was brought to my thoughts with the words of my mother.
