"sweetheart, go buy me some beer."

"mother, i just bought beer yesterday."

"well, buy me more today." she threw an empty beer can at me.

"mother-"

"now." she held up the kitchen knife.

"yes, mother."

i walked to the supermarket and picked up two packets of beer, each with a dozen cans.

i walked to the cashier and placed it on the counter.

"again?"

"yeah, my mother likes to drink."

"oh, i almost forgot." she took out an ipod from her pocket.

"a boy brought this to the supermarket and asked me if i had any idea who it belonged to."

"it belongs to you, doesn't it?"

"yeah, it does."

"i was wondering where i left it."

"here you go, sweetie."

"thank you."

i ran back home as quickly as i could while carrying two packets of beer.

fortunately, i got back on time.

"good girl."

"now, go away."

"yes, mother."

i went into my room and locked the door.

i wasn't going to get beaten up today.

not today.

i inserted my earphones into my ipod to listen to my songs.

but they were gone.
