Chapter 7: The Sick Angel
Dean Ambrose's HouseLindsay's POV:
When I finally awoke from my super deep sleep I noticed how hot the room really was.
I slowly got up but I immediately covered myself up as I felt my self become instanley cold for some odd reason.
I felt terrible and I didn't know where Jonathan was.
After I finally managed to get up and stand straight I was so good I changed into a pair of my old sweats and one of Jonathan's old shirt that was way too long for me.
I slowly walked my way to the living room to find Jonathan when I heard the TV blaring loudly, making my brain pound against my skull.
Once I reached the living room I stopped at the doorway to take the scene in front of me in for a moment.
Jonathan was sitting on the couch, slowly sipping a beer as he watched the Cincinnati Bengals play against Portland I think.
Right as I was about to speak, a sneeze erupted from me, shaking my whole body.
Jonathan instanley looked in my direction and when he saw he me sat his beer down before walking over, eyebrows creased and worry plastered all over his face.
He placed his cold hands over my forehead, making me shiver slightly.
I had no clue what he was doing as his eyes widened and he walked away, confusing me.
He soon returned but this time with a thermometer in hand.
Once he reached me he held up the thermometer to my mouth as he spoke "Lindsay, open your mouth. Please sweetheart, I just need to check. You don't look so good."
I sighed but grudgingly opened my mouth wide enough for him to place the thermometer under my tongue.
We waited for a moment until he took it out and as he read it, his eyes widened even more than before.
He placed the thermometer on the table before quickly sweeping me off my feet into his arms bridal style before walking over and laying me down on the couch.
He quickly covered me with the blanket, making sure to tuck it into my sides.
"Jonathan... What is it? I feel warm and cold at the same time. And I just feel so terrible.... Help me Jonny!" I spoke, but when I did I didn't recognize it.
His previously worried expression softened at my voice and words.
He sighed before crouching down so we were face to face.
He held both my cheeks with his cold, big hands as I tried to fight the warmth that was threatening to cover my cheeks.
"Babygirl......... I'm sorry but you're sick. You have a tempature of 103.57. Don't worry thought, I'm going to take care of you and you won't have to lift a finger." He said softer than I think I have ever heard him speak.
I nodded until I realized something.
"Babygirl?" I asked him in confusion.
But I had to admit that I liked it...No.... I loved it. I don't know why but every time Jonathan calls me like Sweetheart or now Babygirl... It sends butterflies into my stomach.
And that was the first time I think I have ever seen Jonathan blush.
"I am so sorry Lindsay, it just slipped out. I promise that I won't say it again. Damn it, I just messed everything up didn't I? I am so sorry, again Lindsay. Please don't be mad." He rambled on, begging for forgiveness.
I giggled slightly at his antics before interrupting "Jonathan... It's okay. I'm not mad. I-I..... I like it when you call me names like that and Sweetheart..... You don't have to stop. You can call me whatever you want"
He sent me a huge smile before kissing my forehead and standing up.
"I'm sorry to have to leave but I don't have any medicine so I'll have to go to the store and get you some. But I'll be back as soon as I can." He told me.
I frowned slight "Promise?" I whispered in basically a baby's voice.
He sent me another smile as he slipped on his leather jacket before grabbing his keys "Of course Babygirl, I promise. Now, don't get up until I get back and if someone knocks on the door, don't open it no matter what. I have keys. I'll be back soon"
I nodded as he kissed my cheek before making sure I was tucked in before turning and walking out the door, making sure to lock it on the way out.
I sighed but just cuddled closer to the blanket and turned my attention to the game on TV.
*******************************************
30 Minutes Later: Still Lindsay's POV:After about 30 minutes I finally heard the door unlock and opened before Jonathan walked through, his normal hardened expression was plastered on his face.
Now that I think about it, the only time he didn't hide his emotions from what I witnessed was with me. And I had to admit it gave me a weird feeling when I thought about how different he was with me than with everyone else.
When he noticed me staring he sent me a small smile before walking over and sitting on the end of the couch my head was located at.
He laid my head in his lap while slowly running his hands through my dirty blonde waves.
We just sat in silence for awhile until I could no longer fight the drowsiness.
I slowly let my eyes close as I fell into a pit of black but I still managed to feel when Jonathan leaned down and kissed my head before whispering something like
"You are an angel. I promise, I'll take care of you. Sweet dreams baby, I'll be right here."
