" Maya? Earth to Maya!" Steven yelled right in my ear making me jump in surprise.

" What?!" I asked rubbing my now sore ear.

" Stop staring at that poor girl and just go over and give her your number! Staring won't get you anything!" Steven shook his head in disappointment.

" No...I couldn't..." I said softly as I busied myself with wiping down the counters.

" Why not?!" Steven snatched the rag away from me and tossed it into a bucket behind me.

" Is it because she's out of your league?" Steven asked before I could reply.

" What? No. That's not it...but I...I dunno." I said with a sigh as my eyes traveled back over the attractive blonde.

" You do know. You just don't want to say because you know it's dumb." Steven glared with an accusing tone.

" You're right. Okay Okay I'll do it." I sighed shaking my head and wiping my hands off just as a male walked over to where the girl sat and said something to her.

The blonde got a look of irritation and said something in return which earned an angry sigh from the male.

" Come on baby. You know you want me." The male said as I got closer.

" No I really don't. Honestly you're ugly as fuck and I'd rather eat my computer than go on a date with you." The girl snapped, not looking up from where she was writing on her silver computer.

" Listen here bitch..." The man began before I approached.

" Is there a problem here?" I asked glaring at the male.

" Nope. No problem. He was just leaving actually." The pretty girl shot me a smile and went back to typing on her computer.

The male grumbled angrily and stomped out of the starbucks while I watched.

" You okay?" I asked the girl with a small smile.

" I'm fine. Thanks." She replied quietly.

I took a seat across from her and wrote my phone number down on a napkin.

The girl seemed to notice that I had taken a seat and looked up at me with a confused look.

I slid my number over to her and she picked up the napkin with a curious look. She set the napkin into the pocket of her computers case and pulled out a paper writing something down before sliding it over to me.

" I'm Joelee." She said as she stood up putting her computer back into its case.

" I'm Maya." I said just as she left the starbucks.

I looked at the paper in my hand smiling as I saw the phone number written with her name beside it.
