The people of Daka kept telling the Clarkson’s that she would come back, or not to worry, and the she would be okay. However it was obvious that the Clarkson family didn't believe them. They would look away from the person they were talking to, or in Ashley’s case she would play with the ring Alice had given her for their 15th birthday.
Class was interrupted at 10:11 am. It was the police. They came in looking for Ashley. She put both of her wrists out, just waiting to be put in handcuffs. The police officer in front spoke, “There will be no need for that.” However Ashely did not lower her hand, no instead she replied, “And why not? Didn’t my parents tell you that I am guilty? I mean why wouldn’t they? They say I am.” To this the police on the left stated, “You are wrong. They never said you are are at fault. We only want to ask you a few things, but in a more private place.” It was only to this did she put her hands down. With that they walked out. Ashley held her head low as she followed.-R.M.
