I opened my eyes sleepily, what time was it? I checked my horse clock hanging on the wall it was only 10:00. I decided to get dressed ready for the beach with Emily. I threw on my royal blue bikini with my pale blue shorts on over the top and grabbed a jacket. I was meant to meet up with her at 11:00, which meant I had the house to myself for a hour, because my mam is at work all morning as usual.

I went down stairs and got the dog food out for Josie (my chocolate lab). "Josie, Josie, come here girly!" I shouted expecting her to come running. She knows when it's food time and she definitely knows how to come when I call for her, so why isn't she coming?

I went back upstairs. Maybe she had sneaked into my mass room or something. I was just about to open the door when I heard a crash downstairs...

"Josie!" I yelled, and before I could think I was running down the stairs to check what had happened. Oh no! I thought to myself, the door was swinging wide open. Had it been like that the whole time? There's no way of knowing now.

Had someone been in here?

I ran out the door not really knowing what to do next. Then it hit me, the cafe they all know Josie there. So I decided it was my best bet at finding her, and headed in the direction of the local cafe, where everyone knew everyone.

As I was running my long, brown hair got in my eyes for a moment and I couldn't see, but I didn't even attempt to move it out the way all I cared about was finding my dog, I ended up running straight into a girl about my age with medium blond hair, I only got a glimpse though because as we crashed together id spilled juice all over her.

"Maggie, what the hell are you doing? I was just coming to see you, no need to tackle me!" Said the girl in the juice covers dress, who I now know is Emily.

"Have you seen Josie she must of got out?" I asked instead of apologising. Just as I said it I saw Josie looking down at me. Emily had her the whole time!

"Yeah I found her running on the streets. How did she get out?" She asked.

Then I remembered the door. I sprinted back to the house hoping it wasn't too late, but when I got there I got the biggest surprise of my life...
