New Start

New School

Today is my first day of school. I'm dreading even walking out the door.

" I'll get bullied," i whine at mum.

" And i won't be able to go again!"

" Sweetheart," she says brushing my hair back

" It's ok, if you don't like it, we can find you another school!"

I sigh then pick up my bag and head to school.

As i walk to the bus stop i see how empty and lonely these streets are. I seem to relate to them, losing everything makes you feel empty inside.

The footpath is twisting in every direction. It's a different path to my old town, which has probably been crushed by the title waves.

As i come close to the bus stop, i notice no one is there. Am i late? I check my watch. I'm 20 minutes early!

As i wait for the bus to arrive, i notice a girl with jet black hair and olive skin approach the bus stop.

As the figure gets closer, i start getting butterflies. I notice that she is looking at her phone. I wonder what she's looking at, I've never had a phone so i wouldn't know.

What if she asks me questions? I think as she gets closer.

When she was about 1 metre away from me, she looked up and stopped. She stared at me for a while. I managed to peep out a small smile, she smiled back.

" Phew!" i said mumbled.

She walked up to me and said:

" Hey,"

" Are you new here?"

" Y-es.." i said nervously

" Oh! Well, welcome to Hillfield!" she said with a welcoming smile.

" T-hank you!" I said

"Nervous huh?" she said

" A-a little" i say

" Don't be,"  she says trying reassure me

" You'll be fine!"

The the bus arrived. She lead me to a seat on the bus.

" I didn't catch you name!" she asked

" My Names Grace." i said with less nerves.

" Nice to meet you Grace,

" My names Olivia, or Livy for short"

That's a nice name! Wait, does that mean we're friends?
