McKenna walked into the kitchen, sitting down at the table. Kim brought over only one plate, which made McKenna upset.
"Auntie Kim," she said. "What about the other kids?"
"Honey, they dont eat the same.food as us." Kim replied.
"YES THEY DO!" McKenna yelled, throwing her glass plate across the room, breaking it.
Kim was not phased by McKenna's actions. Unlike the rest of the adults, she never put up with McKenna's breakdowns. She may be nice, but she knows that McKenna can get out of hand.
"Let's go. You're done for the day." Kim said as picked McKenna up.
"You can't do this! You aren't my mother! Get off of me!" McKenna shot back. She began kicking and hitting Kim as hard as she could. You do not tell McKenna what to do.
Kim brought her upstairs into what was supposed to be Drew's room. She placed McKenna in the crib that was there, walked away, and locked the door.
"I HATE YOU!" McKenna screamed as Kim left. Once she was gone, the other "children" appeared.
"McKenna? Are you okay?" Drew asked.
"Go. Away. Now." She ordered. They all disappeared and McKenna began to plot her revenge.
"You can't say no to me Aunt Kim. It just doesn't work that way. I'm in charge." She mumbled to herself. In her mind, McKenna ruled everyone and everything. You had to listen to her. You had to do what she said. She was like a queen.
She climbed out of the crib and started to look around the room. "There has to be something in here that she loves." She said to herself. Then, she came along a framed photo of an ultrasound.
"Drew!" McKenna called out.
At her command, Drew appeared in front of her. "Yes, McKenna?" He said.
"Do you think your mom loves this a lot?" She said, showing him the ultrasound.
"Well duh. That was me when I was in her tummy." He said smiling.
"Well in that case," She said slamming in on the floor.
Seconds later, there were footsteps making their way up the stairs.
"McKenna! What was that?!" Kim yelled as she unlocked the door.
Before Kim could enter the room, McKenna climbed back into the crib, looking at the door mischievously. Kim finally got the door unlocked and froze once she saw the scene.
"T-t-that was t-the only pic-cture of D-drew that I-i-i had." She said, beginning to cry.
McKenna just sat there, with an evil grin on her face.
"You can never make me do anything. I will always get you back." McKenna said.
At this point, Kim was actually scared. A five year old had way too much power, but how could someone take it away, knowing that she could go off on someone at any point in time?
Kim walked out of the room, this time leaving the door open. She walked downstairs into the kitchen and grabbed the phone. Once she looked around to make sure McKenna wasnt around to hear her, she called Ryan.
One ring
Two rings
Three rings
"Hello?" She finally heard.
"Ryan we need to talk," she started. "McKenna is out of control. She screamed at me and threw her plate at the wall when I didnt make food for her imaginary friends. She screamed 'I hate you' at me when I put her on.time out. And she destroyed the ultrasound I had of Drew. She cant keep doing this. You need to discipline her."
"I wish I could, Kim, but she's not an easy child to discipline."
"If she keeps acting like this, I'm not watching her anymore."
"Listen Kim, I kn-"
"No you listen Ryan. She's going to end up hurting someone, horribly. Get her under control."
"Alright Kim. I gotta go."
"Ok. Bye." Once she hung up, she walked into the living room to see McKenna playing with her doll Christie. McKenna noticed her standing there and gave her a genuine smile. Kim let out a sigh of relief and smiled back.
"Whatcha doin'?" Kim asked.
"Brushing Christie's hair." McKenna replied.
"She looks very pretty. Do you want something to eat?"
"Pudding!" She replied. Even though Kim knew that she needed to eat something that wasnt junk food, she let her have it. She couldnt risk her having another breakdown and hit her again. Not after what she recently found out.
