Ant felt his boyfriend's hand tighten on his arm.
"Decky, you alright?"
"Aye, why wouldn't I be?"
"Are you scared?"
"No. Ant I'm not a baby. I think I can handle a horror movie."
"Baby, if you're scared just tell me and we'll leave. It's fine, you know."
"Ant it's alright okay? I'm good. Stop fussing."
Ant and Dec were on a date. It had Ant's turn to choose what they were going to do. Having chosen a horror movie, he was now worried it had been the wrong choice. It definitely seemed like Dec was scared but too embarrassed to admit it. So without saying anything more he took Dec's hand in his, stood up and walked out of the cinema taking his surprised boyfriend with him.
"Ant man, what are you doing? I wanted to see that film."
"No you didn't and if you don't, neither do I. Dec I should've known you wouldn't like this film. I know how easily you get scared. So I'm sorry for choosing this."
"It's not your fault I'm a total wuss."
"Decky you are not a wuss. You're just sensitive. Either way I don't care and I've never cared. I love you even if we don't watch horror movies together. Now you wanna go and continue this date in our bedroom? Get your mind to focus on something else? Something much more enjoyable?"
"Let's go then."
The next morning they woke up, cuddled up together. Dec couldn't help but express the thoughts that haven't been going away since yesterday evening.
"You know Ant, sometimes I really wonder why you even love me."
"Woah, woah, woah... Were did that come from now?" Ant asked shocked. He hadn't expected to hear anything like this from his boyfriend's mouth.
"It's just that you can't do anything with me that you really enjoy. You can't go on any rides or even just the London Eye because I'm too scared of heights. We can't go to the cinema and watch horror movies together. And don't you dare saying now you don't want to watch them anyway. I know you do. Even sex is always the same because I don't want to try anything new..."
"Okay that's it! Stop this right now."
Dec stopped immediately. He knew he had crossed a line but he just needed to say what was on his mind.
"Now you listen to me very well, okay? You, Declan Joseph Oliver Donnelly are the most amazing person on earth. You are cute, caring and funny. You're the reason I wake up with a smile every morning. You are the reason I love going to work, because I know I can share it with you. And all those things don't even begin to cover all the reasons why I love you.
About all those things you mentioned that you're scared of. What do you think I am? Do you really think I wouldn't love you just because you're afraid of heights and get scared of horror movies? Because if you do then you really don't know me like I thought you did.
And what you said about the sex. I can tell you, I don't need anything else. What we have is not just sex Decky. It's love and it's the fucking best thing I've ever had in my whole life.
So just to make my point clear, I don't care if we don't go on any rides or watch horror movies together. I can do that with my mates or I just don't do it at all. I wouldn't even care if we didn't have sex until the end of our lives as long as you are there by my side. Because I can live without all those things. But a life without you Decky? That wouldn't be a life worth living."
