I woke up before the sun rose into the sky. This was odd for me because I would always rise with the sun. I had a feeling the something interesting was going to happen, I shock off my bad feeling and went to get ready to do my chores. I got out of bed and went to my closet and I found my usual combination of a light purple tank top and a white mini skirt with black leggings and to finish it off some purple sandals. After I picked out my cloths I went to take a shower in my bathroom. I let the warm water run down my tan body and let the heat relax my muscles. I got out of the shower and rapped a towel around my body while I combed my hair and took care of my other needs.
When I was done I sat in the garden watching Nova and Nina play in the roses and lilies. I loved watching them waddle around exploring the gardens. Today is the twins 5th birthday. The twins have changed a lot in these 5 years and their slowly changing in both appearance and personality. Nova has light purple hair with dark blue streaks with dark blue eyes that could make you feel at peace. Nova was an energetic little girl, who was shy but she could always tell how the people around her were feeling. Nina has dark purple hair with light blue streaks that are matched with her light blue eyes that seem to fill your heart with nothing but love. Nina is as equally energetic as Nova the only thing was that Nina was a more social person and did anything to make people happy when sad.
I was so content watching the twins that I didn’t notice Catori walk into the garden and stand right behind me. I was brought out of my thoughts by Catori’s voice calling my name and the fact that I didn’t see her coming creped me out so much that I screamed.
“Ha-ha… hey Catori ...He...he…..when did you get here?” I asked trying to cover my reaction.
“Hey Aiyana mom and dad what to speak to you in the library.” She said trying to hide the bit of sadness in her voice.
“Ok but can you keep an eye on the twins for me?” I asked
“Sure but if I were you I wouldn’t want to keep them waiting to long.” She warned me.
I nodded my head in understanding. I quickly walked to the library and found my parents sitting with a couple that I had never seen before. My presence was acknowledged by the closing of the door behind me. My father called my over to join them.
“Aiyana I would like you to meet Mr. and Mrs. Stavros” my father said proudly. I took the opportunity to look at the Stavros. Mr. Stavros looks like a serious man but his light hazel eyes showed tenderness. Mrs. Stavros showed kindness and compassion in her posture but also showed a hint of elegance and class which indicated that she was from a powerful tribe. I was brought out of my thoughts when I realized my father had started talking again.
“Aiyana, Mr. and Mrs. Stavros are here to tell you something very important.” My father said in his dominant voice. I looked at the couple waiting for one to speak up. Mrs. Stavros was the one to speak.
“Well….Aiyana we’re here to inform you of the arrangement your parents made with our family a few years back. You see you parent didn’t have enough money to provide for all of you kids. So my family promised to help your family on one condition.” Mrs. Stavros said a bit hesitantly
“The condition was that they hand over one daughter around the same age as our son to marry.” Mr. Stavros continued for his wife. When I realized what they were trying to say, a scream built up in my throat. I tried to hold it back. “Honey, we did it….” My mom tried to reason, that did it I was pissed. I yelled so loud the dogs that lived two houses over started barking in protest. I run out of the room in outrage and headed over to the one place I knew would calm me down.
