The submarine, N1-50, was shining its light on the seafloor. An ancient artifact that was worth millions of dollars was lost here. Suddenly, the light shined on a shipwreck. Some people onboard were going berserk while others were speechless. They shined the light across the wreck. It seemed to be in great condition. Then the light shined on a name on the bow. It said, Ausonia. This was on the front page news for a couple days. People were going crazy. The N1-50 had discovered the wreck of the Ausonia! It was lying on her starboard side in excellent condition. A few days later, the N1-50 went back to the wreck. They scanned the whole wreck and did a survey. A week later, the N1-50 scanned the area around the wreck. A strong current blew the N1-50 way off-couse. The N1-50's metal detector said there was a gigantic amount of metal ahead. The N1-50 went that way. They shone their light on the seafloor. The light struck another shipwreck! It shone the light on the name. It said, Lexia. Now the front page news had pictures of the wreck of the Ausonia and Lexia! Everyone was going crazy! Eventually, the news had died down and some people even forgot about it. The Ausonia and Lexia were forgotten for many years...
April 6th, 2001
A new submarine, the D2-60, was looking for another valuable artifact on the seafloor. It's metal detector went high. They headed towards the metal. Suddenly, the light shone on what looked like a broken off piece of a ship lying on its port side. This was later proved to be the wreck of the RMS Lexia's broken off stern. This also proved that the Lexia indeed broke in half when she sank. A couple weeks later, people decided this try to raise the Ausonia. The Lexia would be raised later. On May 21, 2001, the wreck of the Ausonia was raised. Thousands of people gathered to see the t rise out of the water. Everyone cheered and clapped when the Ausonia reached the surface. People made sure the Ausonia would not sink again by putting a super strong net underneath the Ausonia. They waited for all the water to flow out of the grand vessel. For the next couple weeks, they put the Ausonia on a giant platform of land, floating above the water, for repairs. They repaired the Ausonia so it could not sink again. They repainted the Ausonia so instead of looking like being at the bottom of the sea for half a century, it looked brand new! On July 14th, 2001, they launched the Ausonia into the water. All of her new smokestacks, propellers, boilers, furniture, and everything else waited installation. On September 9th, 2002, the RMS Ausonia was good as new and was back in service. But something wasn't right. The sister ship, RMS Lexia wasn't with it.
On October 21st, 2002, the bow of the RMS Lexia was raised. It was a bit stange because the Lexia was in two pieces. The bow of the Lexia was put on the same platform the Ausonia was on before. A week later, the wreck of the Lexia's stern was raised. It too was put on the platform. After people recovered and restored the bow and the stern, they put the two pieces back together! On November 8th, 2002, the Lexia was launched back in the water, in one piece. They put all the extra stuff on it and a couple weeks later, the Lexia was back in service! Eventually, the Ausonia and Lexia sailed together again in peace.
