Peter

As soon as Peter caught wind of it, he froze. His heart instantly broke and he felt like crying. It wouldn't be the first time he felt like crying since he had run away, but this was the hardest time to fight back the tears. His heart ached, feeling as if it was trying to squeeze itself as much as possible.

"Peter come on." Wendy hissed at him. Peter could not move though, not that he had processed her words though. He was too caught up in the news he had just heard. There was no king anymore? "Are you even listening to me? We can't stay here."

Before Peter could even react the girl grabbed his wrist, pulling him along. They joined the others in the alley, and even with the other's there, Wendy did not hesitate to turn on Peter.

"What the hell was that? Peter, you know we can't stay in the open for very long, but you froze! We could have been caught!" Wendy whisper yelled at him, glaring. Her arms were crossed over her chest, she was clearly angry.

Peter didn't answer, he couldn't. All he could think about was the news he had heard. King Tino has gone missing and was no where to be found. People were fearing that Berwald was going to run off soon as well. Many were starting to fear the down fall of the kingdom. If the royalty were all disappearing then who was to rule? The weakness was also surly going to tempt other kingdoms to try and take them over.

"Peter? Are you alright?" Romeo asked, gentle nudging Wendy out of the way. He knelt down, getting more at Peter's level. His hands were comforting on Peter's shoulders but that did nothing to calm Peter.

"Our king, he's gone missing."

Romeo's eyes instantly widened at that. That was the worst news they could hear, given what they were trying to prevent. There were people who were talking about invasions and taking over the kingdom. Their little group was trying to prevent that from happening, and yet this was surely going to up their work load.

"Where did you hear this?" Romeo asked, his voice staying levelled and calm. His hands did not move off of Peter's shoulders as he asked, although the were gripped a little tight now.

"In the square, someone mentioned it as we were walking through." Peter said. Gossip was everything in their line of work. They loved to think themselves as spies, because that's what they were doing, wasn't it? Minus the fighting and all that, none of them could fight to save their lives, well except Romeo, the leader of their little group.

Their group, all of them, were runaways. Romeo was their group leader despite being the second oldest - Jake was the oldest. But Romeo had been out by himself the longest. He knew the most about how things ran and all that. He was the one who knew how to fight and could protect them all if something went wrong.

Jake was really their second in command, or co-leader. Peter wasn't sure but he was pretty sure Romeo and Jake had some sort of thing going on between the two of them. Jake was also Wendy's older brother.

"I think we're over our heads now. There's nothing we can do about the over turn that's surly about to happen. We have to put up our guard and start to protect ourselves." Jake said, the co-leader part of him speaking up.

While it was Romeo who had brought them all together and organized what they were doing, it was Jake who looked out for them all.

"But this is the time we're needed the most. We need to continue to snoop and report. The knights and guards are going to need our help more than ever." Romeo said, standing and turning to look at Jake.

"If this escalates though, and a whole war breaks out, then we're going to be caught in the cross fire. We need to start to lay low, protect ourselves while we can."

"But if a war breaks out, then we'll be caught in the cross fire anyway. We might as well do good and try and stop it before it even happens."

This was all happening too fast for Peter. The stakes were rising higher than he had ever imagined. He had run away, in anger, then some how got involved in this whole weird team of kids that wanted to protect the king. They worked by gossip, following those who spoke of treason and then tipping off the royal guards. He stayed because he wanted to protect his mama, and yet it seemed as if he had only made it worse.

Surly Tino had run away because he was trying to Peter, for he would never be able to do it otherwise.

"I-I have to go." Peter said, taking a step back. "The best you can do is find the King before someone else does. Or this will not end well." Peter said, then he ran off, towards the castle as quickly as he could.

Kind of a really short update, but guys, I updated. I'm really sorry it's taken so long. I know I've kind of been dead on this account, but I'm going to try and revive it. And I mean it this time.
