(Don't play the music yet!)
(Tyler's POV)
It was back in August when everything happened. I was much better now, and Ethan and I were even closer than ever. It was December now. I woke up, only to see it snowing outside. It rarely ever snowed in L.A.!
Just then, there was a knock at the door. I went downstairs and opened it, only to see my favorite, blue-haired, smol bean sitting there. He was shivering, though."Cold?" I asked, teasing him.
"V-V-V-V-Very..." he stuttered, smiling.I just laughed and let him inside. My parents were at work, and with it snowing, we weren't gonna have school. We would just hang out for the day.
I walked into my room, only to find Ethan under a shit ton of blankets."Damn!" I giggled. "You that cold?"
"Y-Y-Yeah..." he smiled. "Sorry..."
"Don't be. I'll go get us some hot cocoa."I went downstairs to make it.
"HOW MANY MARSHMALLOWS?!" I yelled up the stairs.
"A BUNCH!!" he yelled back, giggling in the process. "YOU SHOULD KNOW BY NOW!!"I just laughed. Ethan could act like a TOTAL dork when he wanted to. As I was bringing up our hot cocoa, I heard... singing and music? It sounded like Pentatonix, with their cover of "Hallelujah". But it wasn't them singing... It was... Ethan.
I went upstairs to hear it better. My God, he has an angelic voice...
(Play the music)
"I heard there was a secret chord,
That David played and it pleased the Lord.
But you don't really care for music, do ya?
Well, it goes like this,
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift,
The baffled king composing Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah...Well, your faith was strong, but you needed proof,
You saw her bathing on the roof,
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya...
She tied ya to the kitchen chair,
She broke your throne and she cut your hair.
And from your lips, she drew the Hallelujah...
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah...Well, baby, I've been here before,
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor.
I used to live alone before I knew ya.
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch.
And love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, HallelujahWell, maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah..."Oh my God. How could one's voice be so angelic? I was already in love with him, but this just made it better. I don't wanna rush it, but I thought now was the time to ask him...
"Ethan," I gasped, making him jump. "Oh my God, that was..."
"Awful? I know... I suck at-"
"No, that was absolutely beautiful. I've never heard a more angelic voice."
"Really? You thought it was good?"
"I thought it was incredible! Do you have choir?"
"Next semester I do. I had band this semester."
"Well, you'll do great. I think you should ask the choir teacher to let you be in the Christmas concert."
"Really? You think I should?"
"Yes, I really do. But I have something else I want to ask you...""What?"
"Will you be my boyfriend?" I smiled. His face turned bright red. I giggled a little. He looked so cute when he looked embarrassed or surprised.
"Yes, I will," he smiled.
I smiled and swooped in for a kiss. He got surprised at first, but melted into it. After a minute or so, we stopped for air. We decided that was enough, for now anyway. We didn't want our hot cocoa to get cold.
"You know what makes it better?" Ethan began.
"What?" I asked.
"A candy cane! Especially the Jolly Rancher ones... Oh, those are so good!"
"I've never done that before."
"Really? Not even with the traditional mint flavor?"
"No."
"Well, lucky for you, I brought candy canes! Pick a flavor."He pulled out two boxes. He chose a chocolate mint one, and I decided on a blueberry Jolly Rancher one. I tried it, and Ethan was right! It was really good!
"Wow! I have to do this more often."
"Try mine," he offered.I did, and it was just as good.
"Thanks for showing me, Ethan," I smiled.
"No problem, Tyler," he smiled back.
"Well, at least I know that I need to do some extra Christmas shopping now.""Aww... I do too, then."
We just sat there and talked some more.
"Tyler?"
"Yeah?"
"What did you think of me when you first saw me?"
"I thought you were really shy and cute... But I didn't want to say anything right away."
"So you've had a crush on me ever since you met me?"
"Pretty much..."
"Well, at least I'm not the only one..."He swung his head over my shoulder and kissed me. This was one of the best days I've ever had.
