"You can go home now Anna, I'll take it from here."

"Yes sir, I'm so sorry..." my babysitter trailed off and quickly gathered her things and rushed out the door and away from the house.

I stared at our fireplace. The mantle littered with pictures of us three, some including other distant family members. My dull green eyes locked on my favorite picture, my fathers hands firmly holding to my chubby little thighs that rested over his shoulders, smiles caked on our lips, my mother had been behind the camera smiling beautifully.

My staring contest was ended abruptly when my uncles figure dropped down to a crouch before my small frame.

"Kai, come now. We should get your things packed." He spoke monotonously, his dark brown eyes largely contrasted my fathers. His having been a raging amber of warmth and sweetness.

I nodded silently and allowed my uncle to lift me into his arms as he carried me up the dark staircase to my room.

"Kai?"

My attention was caught by my friend Sami, her blue eyes curious.

"You okay?" She asked through a mouthful of chips, which made me want to gag slightly.

"Fine. Just thinking." I spoke clearly and ate a small forkful of my salad.

"About moving?"

I nodded silently. To be honest Sami and I weren't even very close. She envied me and she was the least annoying of the girls around here, so naturally I allowed her to worship me by my side.

"I'm really going to miss you, I can't believe your uncle is just picking you up and moving before your senior year. It's crazy that he won't stay just one more year." She huffed.

"New scenery will be a good thing." I shrugged, not replying to her confession that she would miss me, of course she would. Everyone would.

I know it sounds self-centered and unrealistic, but I was the most interesting person in this entire school. Boys chased me, girls envied me, some would attempt to be my friend but I wasn't interested. I'd merely smile flakily and give them the false hope that maybe I actually appreciated the attention. But there was really no reason for it. I got enough attention from the wandering eyes of men around town.

"I guess, senior year won't be as fun without you here..." Sami kept talking, filling the silence between us as I thought to myself. Finally the bell rang and I could get away from most of the people around here.

"Do you want to hang out tonight?" Sami asked as we gathered our stuff.

"Sorry, I'm going to be busy packing." It wasn't a complete lie, but it wasn't totally the truth either.

"I could come help?"

"No, no, you go out and have fun. I'm sure something is going on." I assured with a bland smile and kissed her cheek emotionlessly, as she had made it "our thing" two weeks after she had met me.

She did the same and waved as she walked out of the cafeteria and left for her last half of the day. My manicured nails tapped on my phone and scrolled through the multiple text conversations I'd been ignoring. Finding his name I clicked on it and walked out of the cafeteria, my heels tapping lightly underneath me.

P: Busy tonight babygirl?;)

K: I am, I can make some time though. When?

P: Meet me at 8, you know the place.

My emotionless face lifted into a smirk as I dropped my phone into the designer purse locked on my elbow as I walked confidently to class.

So this is my first story that doesn't have to do with one direction, so I'm hoping I do alright with it. Thank you<3
