“It’s that girl.”
I continued walking down the halls of one of the buildings here at Mashiro, by now, students were crowding up the hall but they immediately made way when I was passing. Cool. Never thought about these spoiled rich kids would be afraid.
“I heard from dad that she caught a burglar at their home this morning.”
They’re talking about me. Really? Is it such a big deal when a person caught a burglar? Stupid people.
I continued walking down the hall when I finally found the right door. Class 1-A.
I opened the door, entered and found a seat at the back near the window; the room was located at the first floor so not much for scenery. I looked around and noticed that everyone’s attention was on me. I avoided their gazes. “They don’t know me. They don’t know anything.” I chanted quietly. I was still chanting when the teacher arrived and nonchalantly told us to introduce ourselves.
“Hey, guys. Magnesium here.” Everyone laughed. What’s funny? Oh. His name. “Don’t laugh at me, guys! Anyway feel free to call me Mag. It’s a lot better. K. Thanks. Oh, full name is Magnesium Jimenez. Nice meeting y’all”
So far that was the only introduction that caught my attention. I was looking at my notes when I realized it was my turn. I stood up but didn’t go in front.
“Name is Lourrel Chan.” Then I sat back down. The teacher looked at me incredulously but said nothing in protest.
The introduction finished in no time. The only people I remembered were weirdly named there’s Magnesium, Marby and one Alouette.
“Mr. Jimenez and Ms. Chan, please repeat your introduction and include what department of art you are gifted in.” The teacher said as soon as the last person introduced his self.
“Oh. Okay. I’ll do it first. I’m Magnesium Jimenez, gifted in painting but best at singing. I can play any instrument. That’s all I think.” Magnesium quickly finished reintroducing himself and it was my turn. Where the hell am I gifted at?
“Lourrel Chan and I don’t know what department of art I’m good at.” I said indifferently. Everyone stifled a laugh and the adviser looked startled but didn’t press on the issue. He introduced himself to the class and started discussing the topics we would be covering in the duration of the school year.
“Ms. Chan please go to the faculty lounge at Lunch time.” He said and dismissed the class.

As instructed I went to the lounge. A lot of teachers were present and they made me sit in front of them.
“Now Ms. Chan. Kindly sing for us, showcase us anything you want. Dancing, singing, painting, drawing, anything you can think of.” I was dumbfounded. They made me come here for this? How stupid. I was about to leave when another teacher spoke.
“Showcase us your talents or we will kick you out.” I continued walking to the door. They seemed to get that I don’t really care. “Your mother will be disappointed when that happens.” The teacher continued and I realized she was right. I stopped. And decided to do what they want and sighed.

I headed straight to the mirror room.
Three weeks had passed since the teachers forced me to showcase my talent, much to my embarrassment. They never told me the results though. I doubt I aced it since I really don’t have any talent.
I’ve been spending most of my time in the mirror room. I found out that no one really went there. That the dance club has transferred to a bigger mirror room. So I have the mirror room all to myself and the teachers, surprisingly, didn’t care.
