Back in ancient times there were spirits that ruled over certain regions of the world. Wolf spirits ruled over North America and most of Europe with many other spirits.
Humans gave sacrifices to the spirits to protect them from other more demonic spirits who kill and feast on there flesh.
During a great battle humans begged the wolf spirits to give them strength and so they fused with the humans granting them the power they wished for.
As the humans fought the other human fused spirits like the bat spirits (aka:Vampires) and the Wild cat spirits (aka:Wedigo's) and the Lizard spirits (aka:Dragons). The battle was terrifying to those humans who did not fuse with spirits, they feared there once fellow humans and banished them to uninhabited land.
Centuries pass as the regular human kind forget there fused brethren and write them off as myth......until know
