11 days had gone by since Angie had spoken to Vincent. She was convinced that she had lost yet another friend. Almost everyone had deserted her once she left her hometown. They had a good reason why, she knew this. However, if they really cared for her, they would've at least kept in contact and checked up on her every now and then. Vincent was different though, and that was the reason why she was beating herself up about the whole argument that occurred between them.
Vince had been the only person, besides her parents and younger sister, who hadn't completely given up on Angie. He called at least once a month to make sure she was doing well. He was the only one who knew about the girl's dark past and he had helped her get back on her feet. But maybe he decided that Angie wasn't worth it anymore. Maybe he was giving up on her. Maybe his patience had reached it's end. All these thoughts raced through her mind, making her dizzy as she stood up to retrieve her buzzing phone.
"Where are you?" Vincent asked a little too loudly for her. The woman pulled the phone a small distance away from her ear. There was way too much noise in his background and with the addition of his voice and the slowly progressing headache she had, loud commotion was the last thing she wanted to deal with this morning.
"Vincent?" she responded in confusion. In all honesty, she really did believe that Vincent would never call her again after what happened almost two weeks ago. She was happy that wasn't the case. At least she knew he would always be there for her.
"Yes, Ang. Now where are you?" The green eyed lass could hear numerous car horns honking and a bike swiftly passing by. Police sirens were singing their boisterous songs and the all too familiar announcement from hot dog vendors advertising their hot dogs was in the mix as well. If she didn't know any better, she would think Vincent was in New York.
"Wha- why is there so much noise in your background? Where are you?"
"I'm in New York City looking for you. Now where are you?" If Angie had heard correctly, Vincent was in New York, looking for her at that. Honestly, the 33 year-old shouldn't have been surprised. He was the more outgoing and outlandish of the two. Even when they were in college together, he'd always be the one going out to parties and dragging his best friend along with him. Angie missed those times dearly. She had to drop out of school after eight months because of an unplanned pregnancy. That's how she ended up in this situation in the first place.
"Did you just say you were in New York?"
"Angie, can we please stop playing 20 questions and tell me where the hell you are?" There was annoyance evident in Vince's voice.
"Alright, Mr. Grumpy pants." Angie teased and proceeded to giving her buddy detailed instructions on how to get to her apartment. She had to endure twenty minutes of complaints about traffic and horrid smells but she didn't mind because they were coming from someone who was coming to see about her. She would take it all if it meant seeing a person from home.
There was a hasty knock at the door after Ang finally hung up the phone with her friend and she hurried to answer it. Once the door opened, the two of them let out squeals of happiness while jumping up and down, flailing their arms as if they were trying to fly. The brunette hopped onto Vince's torso, wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. She couldn't have been happier to see him. It had been a year since they'd seen each other and this was the long awaited reunion the two desperately needed.
"I missed you so much!" Angie planted a sloppy, wet kiss on Vincent's cheek and squeezed her limbs around his body even more than possible.

After catching up with each other, the two set out on a city adventure. Vincent had convinced Angie to let him take her shopping. He wouldn't tell her what for though. He knew that she wouldn't have gone if she knew why he was buying her things. She didn't need to know now anyway. All she needed to think was that her friend was being nice and taking her on a shopping spree.
