Prologue
She’s beautiful. I could be, too, but I’m not—hey, I’m not that bad looking and there’re other worthy things to spend my money on instead of buying cosmetics and makeup, like cheesecakes and Tootsie Rolls, duh. She has a flat stomach. I could have, too, but I don’t care to have one because goddamn it, yolo, people. She’s an actress. Oh, big deal? Who can’t act? Even kids can. She’s a singer, and if a parrot can be a singer, so can I. She’s popular. But I can have heavy make out sessions at any club with anyone at anytime and there will still be no cameras following and flashing my ass, can she? See, aside from money, there’s not much for the lady to brag about.
Thing is, she’s a star—his star—but what do you know, maybe I can be his whole damn sky.
Only, she’s not just his star, so even if I can be his whole damn sky, how can I possibly beat the center of his fucking universe?
So in the end, I’m just an ordinary girl, who can pretend not to give a fuck so screw them, they can both rot happily ever after in hell for all I care.
