Prologue

Space. The final frontier.

That's what humanity has always been fascinated by. The vast emptiness above the sky known as space. Not many people knew what Earth was like in the period before the first starship was ready to travel around the galaxy in 2020, and that period became known as the Forgotten Millennium, a time where man was still walking on it's two feet on the fertile soils of Earth, and there were no starships or holograms or hoverboards. Just birdsong and the salty ocean breeze.

Generations passed, and the period of the Forgotten Millennium dwindled down until it became nothing more than an old wife's tale to be told to children before they went to bed. During this time, Earth began to have many conflicts with neighbouring planets and alien species, one of which the losses were devastating to mankind. The species in which they were fighting were known as the Styx, a merciless reptilian species that wiped out almost a quarter of Earth's population. Those who were left had a choice: flee to other planets which were under the protection of the Galactic Federation, or to take part in a project that involved changing and enhancing the human genetic code.

Most people fled the planet to find a new one to call their home, but a few stayed behind. 20 humans took part in the genetic enhancement project, and as a result, gained supernatural abilities. These humans all had a number burned on a part of their body, going from one to twenty, and they went by the name of Numbers. They were split into two generations, the first generation was made up of older and more experienced Numbers, the second were made up of the younger generation, who had a more complex ability than the first.

But that was then, and this is now. Seven years have passed since that day, and life in the galaxy carries on without a hitch. The tale of the Forgotten Millennium still floats about the galaxy, and word of the Numbers strikes fear into every existing being.

This is the story of how one coincidental meeting sparks the start of an unimaginable revolution.
