A letter to Dad

Your smile stays on my mind,

Your laugh echoes through it.

If I could see you one more time,

I would make the most of it,

I'd freeze time,

And stop the pain.

I wouldn't be scared,

I'd tell you the truth.

The cabin, the bush,

The truck and the boat.

Were only a few moments,

That feel like a life time ago.

I remember some adventures,

but there should have been more.

It was hard to watch you go,

Killing me to see my hero fade away.

I know you're in a better place,

but I still wish you could have stayed.
