The setting of colours bright in the sky illuminated the path home for Serena with rays of warmth holding her with such care in their in their dying and soothing arms.

A heart so warm and tingly and her mind stuck in the days gift. Time not a chain or restraint, her feet step with ease and care, her hands held her goal unawarely as they had been given a different reward then completing her mother's task, instead the feeling of another nurtured her senses and memory.

A soft smile stuck on her face. Not a smile of happiness for that was too simple for the emotions she felt.

Serena lifted her head up to the fading sky of orange that was the pre-show for the dance of the sympathy of graceful lights to shed their gift to the dark Earth of night. To nurture dreams and bless beauty to sky's of dark.

"Thank you. My one Wish. You made it come true. Thank you!" She spoke into the sky of twilight, to the stars not yet visible to the eye but still watching over with an angels eyes. Serena's angel twinkled routinely. Unknowingly watching the young girls words of appreciation.

Her left hand ran through her long honey-blonde hair with delicacy as it blew freely in the winds touch. Home now her main target in mind she set off her walk back. The thought of what had happened today now a fear. Fear to lose the feeling she had to the restraints of imagination and freedom she possessed.

She had her wish come true. But tomorrow is a new day to wish for.

"SERENA YVONNE!" The heart pausing yell of her mother welcomed her home and haunted ear drums as soon as she opened the door to her cage and stepped inside.

"Do you have any idea of the time young lady!? Heavens sake the sun bet you home! Your lucky you got home, a few more minutes and I was about ready to call the police and report you missing!" Her tone full of worry but more anger at her untimely return.

"S-sorry mother I..." She paused in the middle of her reply as she placed her groceries on the kitchen table.

A flash of Ash's face illuminated her thought process making her heart beat slower, her next words yet to be decided. Delicate next words she knew to not create suspicion on her being with a boy.

"I... got a bit lost." She lied to cover up the days events. Her voice tainted but well hidden with uncertainty of if her actions were correct but she knew to have any chance to feel free again she had to take the risk.

Her mother gazed upon her with eyes full of suspicion. Her mind inspecting every inch of Serena's face like a detective examining a crime scene, she sought clues of a lie. Serena stared bravely back into the glaring brown eyes of her mother, her heart beat feeling nonexistent making the moment feel like ages. A staring contest for the truth or a lie.

"Well don't let it happen again." Grace spoke breaking eye contact. Her voice firm and direct yet brought much relief for Serena who felt like her body had just been brought back from the dead as suspense evaporated from her body. She had taken the lie.

"Understood Mother, I promise I will bring a map next time and be more prepared." She replied before bowing to thank her mother for allowing her to have the chance to leave the household and excusing herself from the kitchen, heading up stairs to her room and jumping into the warm, welcoming sheets of her bed.

The one friend that was always there, whipped her tears, listened to her cry's, protected her dreams like a knight for its king. The sheets of the warm blanket nurtured Serena like no one ever could, it's warmth and safety a sanctuary for her.

"Oh God... what have I done? I just lied to my own mother..." Serena's voice trembled into her pillow. Her brain flooded with a guilty conscious. Overwhelmed by guilt her mother's teaching of honestly had been stained with her lie. And a lie for what? A silly boy that she will never again meet?

Her eyes filled with tears of regret. The pain of the soul never before felt and it struck her with its arrow. Piercing right where it hurt the most. The heart. Her emotions now an incomplete puzzle scattered further apart then she had ever seen before.

'I-if this is love... I-I don't want it.' She mumbled subconsciously.

The tick of the clock sung her to sleep, her eyes falling into the night leaving her stars to watch over her now.

Her wish now a battle and a choice for her to make, give up or fight. A decision, a choice now a wall she must climb. Wishes aren't given. They are earned.
