Chapter 1 - My life

My name is Matilda King but everyone calls me Mati. I am 18 years old Senior. I have friends but not too many. I am pretty but the most beautiful. I am popular but not the most popular. I am very clever because I go to a very expensive school, I get a good education. I am a good person but I have a secret that I swore since the day I knew, I would never tell anyone.

I am a gang leader's daughter. My father runs a gang called the Kings alongside my two older brothers, Jack and Luke. Although I am the youngest I am the definitely not the least important. I get on well with my family since my mother died a year after I was born due to cancer. I don't remember her very well but sometimes when I'm upset I get flashbacks of her making me smile.

Todays a very special day for me because I'm going to see my dad after two weeks. He has gone away on a business trip to do some, well business. I sping out of bed and get ready for school. I slip on my uniform then run into the bathroom. I'm not one to always look my best so I just brush my hair and add some mascara to my eyes.

I am so excited, I mean I'm going to see my dad for what feels like forever. I run down the stairs and into the kitchen. I find my brothers sitting there eating breakfast. I run in humming my tunes and helping myself to a fruit salad. Although I hate eating healthy, fruit was always my favourite thing to eat.

"Whats with your mood?" Jack asked me. I sat down next to him and exclaimed: "Dad is coming home today, isn't that a reason to be excited?" They just chuckled in response.

"I heard Dad has a surprise for you when he gets back," Luke told me. "Really" I replied. I love surprises. "I hope he got me a souvenir from where he went," I said taking a bite out of my apple.

I love my brothers, I mean we get on like a house on fire. We can all just talk about whatever we want for hours on end. I think that they are the best brothers ever apart from the fact that can sometimes be too overprotective but I mean that's what all brothers are like. They both look like me dad whereas I look like my mum which make my dad really happy since he always tells me that although my mother left, she left a part of her with me. This always warms my heart. I have pictures of my mum, she is really beautiful and I aspire to be as beautiful as her when I am older.

Suddenly Jack's phone started to ring, he looked at it and showed Luke. They gave me a kiss on a cheek and left. I knew it was gang business since they are my father's right-hand men. I look at the time and realise that I'm late so I jump in my car and go on my way to school.

When I arrived I was instantly met by my best friend, Laura. She is my best friend since we first met in kindergarten. She is the only person in the whole world who knows about my secret because best friends never keep secret. She has blond hair and green eyes. She is the best friend anyone would want, I mean she is funny, kind and has one hell of a bad ass attitude. I love her like a sister.

"Mornin'," she says grinning. I look at her she has a massive grin on her face. "I bet you never guess what I found out this morning," She said. I rolled my eyes at her because knowing her its probably just something silly like something to do with a celebrity or something. "I heard that Jake likes you again".

Jake, my ex-boyfriend. My blood ran cold in my veins. He used to abuse me and cheat on me until the point I didn't want to give him my virginity he cheated on me with Lily Morgan and then disappeared. He returned about a month ago and I haven't heard from him until now. It hurt especially since Lily Morgan is the school slut. She hates me for some reason and makes my life a misery so I hate her back. Jakes new this but decided to go ahead with it so he could shatter my heart into millions of pieces.

"I don't care" I quickly snapped back at Laura. "Geesh someone has got their panties in a twist," she says giggling. I just rolled my eyes at her. I looked fine on the outside but on the inside, I was like a waterfall of sadness and tears.

Shoot! I just walked into someone. I step back to see Lily Morgan. I hated this girl more than anyone else on the planet. I rolled my eyes and started walking away.

"Watch where you're going" she spat at me.

"Excuse me, but that's not how you talk to someone," I say back rolling my eyes.

"You do know who you're talking to," she says checking her nails.

"Unfortunately" I mutter under my breath

"What was that" she snapped at me

"Nothing" I quickly say, not wanting to spend any more time then I have to.

"You should watch your back Matilda," she says as I walk off. I just can't let her ruin my special day, nothing can put me in a bad mood today.

After school, I get in my car as quick as I can and drive home. I turn on the radio and listen to my jam. Wolves by Selena Gomez and I am so excited, I know I keep saying this but I love my Dad and he is my rock.

When I arrive at my house, more like a mansion. I love how modern and large my house is but right now, I need to get inside because I can see my dad's car parked in the driveway. As I walk in, I see my brothers standing there, looking at me in a sad way. I hope that nothing bad has happened to dad. As I walk in the kitchen, I see my dad standing there and I run up and give him a hug. At first, he was surprised but pulled me closer to a hug.

"Hi, Daddy," I say hugging him tighter, "I miss you so much," I tell him.

"I missed you too honey," he says looking me in the eyes. His eyes are full of sadness and it makes me shiver because my dad is always a happy man, at least around me. "Let go for a walk, I have something to tell you," he says. We start to walk outside and into the garden.

At the moment it is Murder on the Orient Express. I saw it the other day in the cinema and it is soooo good!!!
