The sun shone brightly on my face through the windows, forcing me to open my eyes. I peaked and noticed my assistant drawing the curtains. I growled as I forced myself up. After the couple of days I had, I knew I deserved a couple of more hours to sleep without having anyone to disturb me. I had spent the previous day managing everything for the wedding of Stacy and Brian. It had taken a lot of struggle, hard work and sleepless nights to get me where I was. It wasn't easy becoming an event planner especially when it was completely unexpected and that even working at 'Glorious', which was one of the top event managing firms, made it all the more better.
I had been planning Stacy and Brian's wedding for quite a while now. They wanted me to plan their wedding at a beach in Bangkok. Since both of their parents were very important clients of our firm, I had no room for any mistakes so I had been working my ass off planning 'the perfect wedding' for them. The wedding took place the day before yesterday and was very successful. All the arrangements were loved and adored by all the guests and before leaving for her honeymoon Stacy had cried and thanked me for making her big day perfect. Last night our firm's manager treated us to dinner at the best restaurant there for the success of the wedding, me being the guest of honor. I felt pretty tired, my head felt heavy and as i tried to get up from the bed i also felt dizzy. My assistant, Eva, had constantly been blabbering but i paid no attention as i was lost in my own thoughts. Eva shook me, "Maam, are you listening? You're gonna be late for the meeting. You need to get dressed ASAP!", she shouted worriedly. Then it hit me, i had a meeting with a client but i had completely forgotten. "Shit!", i said as i rushed towards the bathroom. The bathroom was massive and a had huge bathtub. I wished to take a long and foamy beauty bath before I left but i was running out of time. I took a quick shower and as i got out of the washroom, i noticed my clothes were already on the bed. I slipped on my grey office skirt and wore a sleeveless silk black top, which i tucked in my skirt. I had to look professional. I then slipped on my red Louboutins and on my way out i grabbed my grey blazer which matched my skirt.
As i exited the hotel, i saw that Eva had already called a town car for me and told the driver the destination. I felt relieved. I had finally reached the coffee shop right on time and without wasting another moment i rushed in. As my eyes scanned the place, I spotted a well-dressed and gorgeous brunette seated at the table near the window. She stood up as she saw me and i walked over to her. We greeted each other and introduced ourselves. "Hey, my name is Sophia." I introduced myself. "Hi, I'm Sarah!", the young lady replied. "Soooo, its no secret that I wanted to meet you because i want you to plan an event for me," she smiled. "You want me to plan an event for you? That's a shocker!", i said jokingly to which she laughed. She then lifted up her right hand to show me this huge and beautiful diamond ring on her finger. I was stunned. "Wow! That's one gorgeous ring.", i said. "I know right. Well, I've been with this guy for like 8 months. We know each other because our parents are really good friends. We used to play together when we were toddlers but then my family had to move to newyork and we werent in-touch for almost 15 years but we met last year when i returned back from newyork and we fell for each other and he proposed to me last night." she said, in one breath. "That's really cool." i replied, trying to sound excited for the girl. "I want you to plan my engagement party. Right here in Bangkok on the beach. I saw the arrangements you made for Stacy and Brian's wedding and was very impressed." she said. As much as i wanted to fly back home, i couldn't say no to her. "Sure. That won't be a problem. Well, I'd like to know how you want everything to be." i said. "Oh, my boyfriend, oops! Fiance, i meant, is going to arrive any minute." she said as she stared impatiently outside the window. I looked down at the menu and started going over everything the shop had to offer. When all of a sudden i heard a voice, "Hey." The voice was very familiar, i looked up to see who it was and to my shock it was him. Him. My eyes could not believe it. I hadn't seen him in the past two years. I got the same feeling every single time i saw his gorgeous face, the butterflies in my stomach were fluttering. He was the only guy who would make me go weak on my knees. The one and only, Nathan Scott. As he looked at me, our eyes locked at each other. I got up from my seat, "Nathan." i muttered. "The ever-gorgeous and one and only, Sophia." he said as he stared at me, making me weirdly uncomfortable and giving me tingling feelings. "Baby." Sarah muttered as she kissed him. "You two know each other?" she asked inquisitively. "Yeah. Kind of." i answered to which Nathan looked at me weirdly. I was lying. If there was any person i actually knew and wanted to know more about, it was him and only him. We understood each other like no one else would be able to. We had an indescribable connection. "Oh okay. I'm actually getting late for shopping with a friend. So, how about you two catch up and I want to know all the details later?", Sarah asked to ease the awkwardness surrounding us. "Sure." Nathan and I replied in sync. "Bye, baby. I'll see you at the hotel." she said as she kissed him again before leaving, to which he smiled. I felt a sudden ache in my heart, i wasn't aware that i was still in love with this gorgeous man. How could i not be? He was everything any girl could ever wish for. He was tall and and fair and had light brown eyes and dark brown messy hair. He was very handsome. I remember the day when i first laid eyes on him. Aaaahh. Honestly, when i first saw him he seemed like a jerk who all the girls were after because of his unreasonably good looks. At that time I, however, was past the point to fall for a guy only because he was good looking. I had learnt that if he's not a good person and if he doesn't take care of you, he's not worth it. Later, as we got to know each other i realized how amazing he was.
