Dylan's pov
After we egged Hercules and the others we ran into the woods to laugh our ass's off.

"that...was...so...fucking...funny" Brenden laughed out.

" totally" I managed to choke out.

" who's your best friend" Brenden asked randomly.

"you of course" I chuckled to him

Out of nowhere I wondered why his siblings always give him the evil eye when he dose funny things. After I asked him about it he sighed and got right to explaining.

" it's because of my wolf fur color, you see every family has a specific color that belongs to there family, like yours is black, mine is red. But my moms is grey and my brother and sisters have her color. They want my color because red symbolizes fire and grey symbolizes charm. I have my moms charm and they have my dads fierce spirit so they are mad they didn't get my color." Brenden explained

"you can't control that it's genetics not choice" I angrily exclaimed

Brenden just shrugged and asked me about my life as a slave.

" well, if you didn't guard how they liked it you were whipped and if you were rude they put a pin in your back and electrocuted your spine. You only had your wolf to talk to, so that's why I'm close to Kaydo, my wolf" I whispered.

" me and Nebo are close to, she... makes me feel better about my life" Brenden told me.

" Nebo is a girl but your wolf form is male and how did the other pack members react" I exclaimed

" Nebo says she doesn't know why my wolf form is male and they don't know because I don't let them. You can allow them to feel your wolf or not and Nebo is very strong so even the alpha can't if she doesn't want him to" Brenden said.

" no one talks about it if they know" I asked

"Yeah it's like in the book The Giver, it's like bragging you generally don't talk about it or question it, it's your wolf and you can allow someone to feel it or not and allow someone to know or not " Brenden explained

" what about Logan being your mate" I asked Brenden curiously.

" he ignores me when I try to talk to him about us, so I don't give a damn anymore, oh and just because I can have pups he also finds that frightening " he explained

" how can you have pups"

"well you know the story of the phoenix, how it can be reborn from its flame, well I can have pups from my color being the same as the Phoenix and symbolizing fire" Brenden answered.

" I thought is was because your wolf is female" I exclaimed

" that to, is you want a simpler version" he shrugged

We talked for a few more hours, then fell asleep together near a tree.
