I woke up one day, it was a Saturday, and as I had no work I decided to go to the park. It was a nice day and the sun was shining brightly above me as I jogged along. I was wearing a hoodie, but it was far too hot to keep wearing it, so I put it in my blue and green backpack. It was my favourite backpack, I had inherited it when my father died, along with a clock, two potatoes and some bread.
I polished the clock everyday, and it hung in the middle of the wall opposite my bed. I kept the potatoes and bread in a small, transparent, fridge-like container. I couldn't bring myself to eat them, it would be like eating away at the memories I had of my dad. I sighed, life goes on I guess. I wiped the sweat off my forehead, and continued to jog.
I arrived at the park just as my thighs started to burn and I sat down on a park bench for a minute. Still tired but not wanting to just sit and do nothing, I walked over to the small pond. I smiled at the small fish swimming. In the corner of my eye I noticed a fishing rod. Who would leave this here? Is it for the public or did someone forget it? I thought, looking around. Suprisingly the park was empty. Unusual for a Saturday afternoon.
I picked up the fishing rod. Casting it into the calm water I felt a sense of peace, tranquility. No fish were biting but I didn't really mind. I felt a small tug on the fishing rod. I jumped up and tried to reel it in but it seemed like something else was pulling it back in to the water. The tugs became stronger. One moment, I was struggling with the rod, the next second I was in complete darkness.
I started to panic. Then I realised the 'walls' surrounding me were... slimy. I was struck with a sudden thought. 'No of course not, that's ridiculous...' but there was no other explanation. I, Jeremy Hawk, had been swallowed by a gigantic fish. Suddenly the 'room' gave a lurch, and before i knew what had happened, I was on dry ground again. Well, I say dry, it was in fact rather wet. Exactly what you'd expect after an enormous fish jumps out of the water. I looked around nervously, suddenly aware of how any youths nearby would've recorded the event and uploaded it to SimTUBE by now. But, to my relief, the park was just as empty as it had been when I started fishing.
I shivered, the sun was still shining but my clothes were soaked, and the wind had started blowing. I couldn't jog home in wet clothes, but I couldn't very well stay in the park until they dried. I was at a loss, but then I remembered. Of course! How could I forget? I chuckled as I opened my backpack. Reaching my hand in, shifting through the objects blindly until I found it. It, of course, being my car. It was red, with a single white stripe on either side, and some white dots on the roof, getting smaller closer to the front.
I leapt into the car and began the short car journey home. I couldn't wait to get home, it had been a long, confusing, fantastic day.
