I woke up, dreading the thought of school. Finally year 8, more homework and more drama. The only thing I was excited about was the thought of seeing my best friend Caitlin. I could barely open my eyes. Slowly I went to the bathroom and splashed my face with cold water. I yawned and made my way downstairs.
"Hi mum."
"Hi honey, what cereal do you want?"
"Any."Caitlin messaged me, it was so good to hear from her I barely saw her all summer.
'Hey girl what's up?, so excited to see you soon xox'
I dashed upstairs and got changed into my uniform. I put my blazer on and got my stuff ready. I shouted bye to my mum and walked outside to wait for Caitlin.
As soon as she arrived I ran and squeezed her.
"CAITLIN!"
"JESS!"
"I've missed you so much!"
"Same!"We started walking, talking about what we had been doing since we last saw each other. It made me glad when she said her mum was doing fine. Her mum had cancer so Caitlin spent most of her time in hospital. Her mum was a second mum to me, she'd been there since I was in nappies.
As soon as we got to school Lily ran over to us. Lily was so nice but had an obsession of boys, but she was still one of my best friends.
"Hey, how's your summer been?!"
"Lily!" I exclaimed "It's been fun."
"Caitlin?"Lily Asked.
"Good!"We all carried on walking and sat down in the cafeteria. Lily started talking about Tyler again, the captain of the football team, she's liked him since year 3. Every time she did talk about him though Caitlin looked down, it's like she was hiding something.
"He's so fit", Lily said daydreaming again.
"If you say so", I laughed and looked at Caitlin who was being dead quiet. The bell rung it was time for form, I waved goodbye and went to class. I met up with Isabel and we walked to class together.
"I'm not going to ask how your summers because everyone has probably asked", she said.
I smiled and nodded. We lined up and waited for Miss Panther to come. When she arrived her black, short hair was wet through it was like she'd been caught in bad rain. Water was dripping on the floor and me and Isabel smirked. She told us to enter and we went and sat down. I got out my equipment and sat in silence. She was quite strict when it came to people talking when she was teaching so no-one talked most of the time.
"Hello class, I hope you all had an amazing summer now everyone get their book out and read".
Samuel raised his hand I knew it couldn't be good.
"Yes?"
"Miss I have uh, misplaced my book."
"YOU HAVE WHAT, THAT IS A DETENTION AFTER SCHOOL!"She's really strict no wonder she isn't married! Isabel passed me a note.
'Your invited to my 13th birthday party on the 14th September hope you can come! - Isabel'
She looked my way and I nodded to say I'll ask my mum. The bell rang again I had math, then English, then Spanish, then drama and finally music. It was a pretty good day. I met with Caitlin at the end of the day so we could walk, she looked really happy like Cheshire Cat. I didn't bother asking why until we got halfway home.
