As soon as I walked into school, I knew something didn't feel right. Students were whispering as I walked past, shooting me sympathetic looks.
"What's with everyone today?" I whispered to Aspen, confused.
"No idea."
"Tempest White?" a voice said, startling me. I looked up to see a tall girl, with bright green eyes that could kill, blocking my way.
"Y-yes?" I stuttered, stopping abruptly in front of her.
"Come with me." she ordered, and motioned for me to follow her.
"I'll catch you later." I called to Aspen, giving her a faint smile.
I followed the girl down a few halls, up a few flights of stairs, and to a big mahogany door.
"The Headmistress would like to see you." she said, and pushed open the door.
Inside, the Headmistress was sitting at her desk, filling out some papers.
"Thank you Mistie, you may go now." She said to the girl in the hall, not looking up from her papers.
I hesitantly sat down in one of the chairs in front of the desk, and folded my hands in my lap.
"You wanted to see me?" I implored, watching her every pen stroke.
"Indeed."
She sighed, and set the pen down. She looked up at me, her tired green eyes filled with great concern.
"You aren't in any trouble, dear. You can relax." she said quietly, and folded her hands on her desk.
My heartbeat roared in my ears as I anxiously hung on her every word.
She took a deep breath, and looked at me sympathetically.
"As terrifying as this is going to sound, I need you to do something for me. Well, not just me, but for the whole world." she announced.
"And t-that would be?" I choked, my heart racing.
"I need you to save the world."

The next thing I knew, I was waking up in the infirmary, with Aspen by my side. My head was pounding as I slowly opened my eyes and sat up.
"Tem, you're awake! How are you feeling?" she asked, and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm fine, I think." I grimaced, rubbing my temples.
"What happened?"
I blinked a few times, still shocked from what the headmistress had told me.
Me? Save the world?
"I don't think I can do it." I sighed. "Headmistress Grace asked me to save the world."
Aspen gasped, and nearly fell out of her chair.
"She asked you to what?!" she exclaimed, gripping my hand.
"Crazy, isn't it?" I wondered aloud.
Aspen opened her mouth to say something, but was stopped by the sudden appearance of a girl beside me. Her eyes looked like mini oceans, with flecks of light green and bright blue.
"Tempest, right?" she asked, looking over to me.
"That would be me." I said, squeezing my eyes shut in an attempt to halt the pounding in my head.
"I'm Lilith, nice to meet you." she said cheerily, extending a hand out to me. I shook it with hesitation, and was surprised to feel that I was instantly calmed at the touch of her hand.
"Woah, what was that?" I marveled, completely surprised by the sudden feeling of tranquility.
"Oh, that? I'm a Tidal witch. It's in my nature to have a calming aura." she said with a smile.
"Oh. That's...nice."
"So, what is a girl like you doing down here with girls like us?" Aspen questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, you see, I'm here because I'm going with you on your quest to save the world!" she gushed, blushing slightly.
"What?"
"Oh yes!" she exclaimed, excited. "I've been assigned to go with you!"
Aspen laughed.
"I'm not sure that's something to be excited about."
I took Lilith's hand, and smiled up at her.
"I'm glad you'll be joining me." I said sincerely.
"Well, surely it won't be just you and me." Lilith went on, the gears in her head clearly turning.
"Obviously Aspen is coming too. I mean, she's my right hand woman." I pointed out.
"Surely we'll find more people." Lilith insisted, squeezing my hand.
"Thank you Lilith, really, I appreciate it so much."
"It's my pleasure. I'm always looking for ways to help." she smiled at me once more, and sat down on the edge of the bed.
The anxiety from before quickly faded, Lilith's calming aura working it's magic. The pounding in my head receded somewhat as I sighed and sat back.
"So..." Aspen started.
"Who do you have in mind?"
