Emily groaned as the light hit her face. She had been stuck in this dark, cold cell for days now, and this strange boy wouldn't let her go. No, He intended to keep her for a long, long time.
"How are we today, my sweet Virgo?" The boy grinned as he stood in the doorway.
Emily stayed silent, not even looking up at him. Tears were appearing in her eyes again, and she didn't want him to see.
"My my, girlie, we're quiet today aren't we?" The boy shut the door and turned in the light in the room.
Emily's head snapped up. Girlie? She knew that name, and only one person called her that.
'You know I'll always be here for you, girlie.'
Lathan. Lathan was the only one who called her that. Now, this kid thinks he can?
"I brought you a little present, Virgo. I would love to see you wear it," He held up a torn, short, faded white dress. It looked small, but Emily hadn't been fed much since she was kidnapped, so it was possible she would fit.
"Let me unhook you, so you can change. That doesn't mean you get to run. No, I'll just cover my eyes. If you try anything though, you're gonna be in for a nasty surprise," He laughed as Emily trembled.
Her shaky hands reached for the short puffy sleeved dress and looked at it. She then noticed a faded darkish yellow ribbon running around the waist, and tied into a small bow into the front. It looked as if a little girl had worn it before, and that's why it was old, and torn.
Emily hid in the corner as she changed into the dress. Thoughts of escaping crossed her mind, but she didn't want to fail, and have to get beaten. He had hurt her once before, and it wasn't pretty.
She looked down, then gasped at her leg.
A black, medium sized tattoo, was imprinted on the side of her thigh. She wouldn't have noticed with the pants she wore earlier, but with the shredded dress, it was easily noticeable.
"All done girlie?" The boy uncovered his eyes and looked at the sight. He smiled and walked over to the frightened girl. He grabbed her shoulders and twisted her around to where he saw the side of her. He bent down and traced the symbol over and over again with his finger.
"You look lovely, darling. Truly a Virgo. Now, spread your wings!" He stood up, smiling as an evil look appeared in his eyes.
"What's the matter, girlie? Can't you fly? You're a Virgo. The virgin angel. Spread your wings so I may see how beautiful they look!" He held his arms in the air, expressing his excitement.
Again, Emily stayed silent.
"Come on, girlie, stop pretending you don't-"
"Stop calling me that."
The boy looked at her, enraged, but Emily decided to talk still.
"Only Lathan calls me that, and I want it to stay that way. I don't know what you're talking about, about these wings, and me being a Virgo. Yes, it's my zodiac, I know, but I can't just grow wings! Now please, let me go home!"
Emily had raised her voice by the time she was done talking. She felt proud she did it but quickly terrified of what she's done. The teenage boy looked at her, enraged by her outburst. He quickly walked over and slapped her across the face. Emily fell to the floor, holding her cheek.
"You think you tell me what to do!? I am Scorpio! I will be the leader of the zodiacs! My father and I have worked hard on this, and you're not gonna fuck it up, you stupid girl! Now spread your wings for me!"
