Prompt: Following Seth's beating and revelations with Jessica and Bryce, Justin seeks solace in you - just as he always does.Part One, 1,693 words. Part two coming soon. x
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Your phone had been ringing for the fifth time in a row, vibrations rattling your bedspread in a synchronized rhythm as text messages chimed their way in between the second gasps of the incoming call.
Groaning you slowly opened your eyes one after the other, squinting as your eyes adjusted to the newly found light of your room when you grabbed your phone and brought the device to your face. Your phone lit up your dazed face as the call faded from incoming to missed, the name Justin showing the number five beside it.
In between the five missed calls you received from the blue eyed brunette, you had double text messages asking you to please pick up, and another five split between Jessica, Bryce, and Zach – the three all agreeing to ignore Justin's call.
Rolling your eyes, you immediately hit call back to Justin, pressing the phone to your ear. As if you would take advice from your three friends – acquaintances – they had proven not only to you, but your entire campus, they weren't reliable when it came to actions taken among friends, let alone with their own being.
The three were Justin's friends, people you associated with only for the sake of Justin when you crossed paths. You and Justin had been friends since grade school, becoming friends due to being neighbors – your moms, once, being friends; and you'd be damned if you'd let some of his high school posse determine whether or not you picked up your phone.
Justin answered on the second ring, his raspy voice filling your right eardrum.
"What's going on?" you asked, pressing the phone to your ear as you snuggled deeper into your sheets, closing your eyes. "I need you," he croaked, and you jolted. His voice cracked in between each syllable, his broken tone sending the hairs on your arms to stand tall in worry.
You sat up with your back pressed against your headboard, all tiredness drained from your body – your heart thumping in alert.
"Justin," you scolded and squinted your nose when your voice sounded like your own mother, "what's wrong?" you rushed. There was shuffling in the background and you brought your phone closer to your lobe, pressing it deep into the side of your ear, "Justin."
Another thud then Justin responded, "yeah?"
"What is wrong," you repeated, gritting your teeth through each word. "I need you," he whispered, "please."
Sighing, you brought your legs out of the covers and turned so you were facing the edge of your bed. "Where are you?"
"Your window."
Pushing yourself off your bed, you hung up the phone and turned on the light at your bedside then stalked to your window and pushed your curtains aside. As Justin's face came into view, your eyes widened while you rushed to open the window.
"What the fuck happened this time," you croaked as he tossed in his duffle before hoisting himself in. Your hands immediately went to the side of his face, cupping his cheeks in your hand.
Justin winced as your palms touched his freshly skin, stinging the freshly opened wounds. He lightly shook his head out of your grasp and made his way towards your bed, sitting at the foot while you made your way into the bathroom.
Unfortunately, it wasn't abnormal for Justin to show up in the middle of the night with bruises glazed across his skin. It was really rare for him to show up with his tan skin bare.
