After the final exam Boruto's clasmates went toa big board whit the names of pased students.After a few seconds evryone find their names on the board,evryone seems happy about it.Only Denki was still there starching for his name.He was failed.
Denki felt pain in his chest,after all the hardwork he faild.The first thing that comes in his mind was that maybe he isn't good enough to be ninja.No one was noticed,and he doesn't wanted anyone to notice that he is the only one who failed.
The new gennins was celebrateting their success without seeing the filed student.Only Iwabe noticed that Denki wasn't happy and understand him.He repeated the academy a few times so he knows the feeling.
Iwabe was not sure what to say,but knew that he has to do something.Whit salient steps he went to him and put and arm on his shoulder "Ah...Im s-sorry Den..."Denki slaped away Iwabe'd hand without looking him in the eyes and ran away.
When Iwabe looked and his hand there was a water drop-Denki was crying.Even if he gradient,Iwabe was not feeling so well as he thanked will be after he become a shinobi.
Iwabe wanted to become shinobi almong whit Denki.Now he was Shinobi but he wasn't happy.

He made the choice,as his friend his mission is to help him-alone.
Timeskip
Denki was on the training field crying.He was hugging his knees to hide the tears and isolated himself,he doesn't sense Iwade's coming.But when he saw him he stand up and made a step trying to leave,when Iwabe grabbed his hand to stop him from running away again."Denki don't run.."
Denki turn his head,he doesn't want Iwabe to see his tears and see him like a crybaby"You pass the exam...you don't know how I fell...after the hardwork everything is ruined.Now im gonna lose all my friends because they are ninjas and Im just a trash who can't even pass a simple test"
Iwabe sigh,but don't release him."Idiot,you are not losing anyone,Im your friend and I understand you better than anyone else,so please let me help you."When he heard that he start crying even harder and cover his eyes whit hand until he calmed down,then rise a head and say"h-how you gonna help me...I already failed"
"I failed too...twice.But I doesn't give up and now Im here Im gonna tutor you and you will pass next year for sure"
Denki look confused"Iwabe-kun you are now a shinobi you can't waste your time whit someone like me"
Iwabe teke a deep breath and after a seconds of holding released it"Denki we gonna become shinobis together no metter what.Even if I should wait ten years until you become shinobi too Okay"
That speech made Denki happy somehow.The tears stopped,on his face arrived a smile."Yosh!Let's do it Iwabe-kun"
Iwabe smile too and release Denki,now he was happy to see that his friend was still not given up.
"Okay we start from tomorrow and make sure you will arrive here"Iwabe was fried up about the training,even he doesn't now why exactly.
Denki answered little confused"O-okay,sure...of course."
