Today I was going to yet another Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend with my brother 4 time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Now to everyone in the world, he is the Formula 1 4 time world champion Sebastian Vettel who moved from Red Bull to Ferrari, the driver who could make Ferrari the best again, a German racing in a Ferrari, but he's so more then that to me.
Oh, how rude of me? I forgot to introduce myself.
My name is Mila Rose Vettel, my birthday is 21st August 1988.Yes, you guessed it, I'm the younger sister of Sebastian. But it's not all that bad, as Sebastian doesn't treat me as a younger sibling like most would, we are equals. We have other siblings too – two older sisters Melanie and Stefanie and there is also our younger brother Fabian – he followed Sebastian and became a racing driver like Sebastian and is showing he has got what it takes as a racing driver.
We have all always being there for each other through our lives, we had our ups and downs as siblings do, but I was especially there when it comes to Sebastian's racing career. I love being the most supportive sibling as I know he loves the support from his fans but when its support from family, it is even better.
I wish I could do what he does for a career as we were equal in karting as we raced together with being close in age but unfortunately, my gender prohibits me to go any further, so I stuck to being their for my brother no matter what.
Of course I'm happy and supportive for my older sisters and their careers, and also Fabian with his racing but with been so close in age to Sebastian and having a love of cars and motorsport, it just makes more sense.
I moved to Switzerland to live with Sebastian and his beautiful family at their amazing home in 2016 as Sebastian had an extra building built just for me as we both thought it would make sense for me to live with him or near him with me travelling around the world with him all the time, luckily for me, me and Hanna get on so well that she didn't mind me moving in with them, I love my two nieces Emilie and Matilda so much and I love babysitting them and allowing Sebastian and Hanna to go out and relax.
Anyway enough of me, let's get back to the story.
We are currently on our way to Melbourne, Australia for the start of the 2017 season, all expenses paid for by either Ferrari or Sebastian. The flight from our home in Switzerland is always so long, no wonder we always had some sort of jetlag after the flight. "Perks of the job" is what I always get told by everyone.
I was looking forward to yet another interesting race season especially after last season when it was a close fight between the two Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg all season and Nico finally came out on top at the final race of the year, then everyone was surprised when Nico said goodbye to the Formula 1 world and announced his retirement. I tend not to read too much on social media etc about teams and drivers so it would be nice to see who is in what team when we get to the track and get into paddock. But I am hoping that Sebastian and his Ferrari SF70H (this year's amazing Ferrari car)would do better this year and hopefully Sebastian can go for yet another world championship and make it 5 championships.
I love the track at Melbourne so much as it is so beautiful. No wonder Daniel loves coming home so much, speaking of Daniel, I was looking forward to seeing my friends. The drivers that are my friends are Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen, especially with them being Sebastian's teammates, Daniel in the past at Red Bull and Kimi currently at Ferrari. And everyone talks to Jenson Button, I will miss seeing him around though with him not racing anymore, and last but no means least there is Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen.
