We knocked on the front door, and the door was opened when we were getting ready to knock again.
I recognised the bulky male in front of me as Matt.
"Hey ladies," he drawled, his breath heavy with alcohol, "Celia, you look so sexy."
Cecelia giggled coyly. "You going to let us in?"
His eyes flickered to me, stopping at my chest. I rolled my eyes. Seriously?
"My eyes are up here," I clicked, drawing his attention to my face. He grinned sleazily. I doubt he realised I was in the same class as him.
"Who's this, Celia?"
"Lianne."
"Any friend of Celia is a friend of mine. Come on in," he gestured towards the interior of his house.
I stepped past him, and watched in disgust as he pressed his mouth to Cecelia's neck. She looked startled, but she began to relax, enjoying the attention of one of the most popular guys in school.
"Cecelia! Darling, you look amazing!" Another blonde-haired girl approached us. I stood next to the wall awkwardly, as Cecelia hugged her.
"Catch you later, sexy," Matt winked, before lumbering off, presumably to get more beer.
I sighed, as Cecelia joined her large group of friends. I drifted through the house, passing couples with their tongues down each other's throats, before finally reaching the main room of the house. It was filled with dancing bodies, and loud pounding music that made my heart beat along to it.
"Lianne?" someone shouted, and I watched as a tall male disengaged from the crowd and made his way towards where I was standing.
It was Lucas. He smiled when he saw me and he gave me a once over just like Matt had done, his eyes lingering again on my chest.
"Oh mother of god. My eyes are on my fucking face."
He smiled sheepishly, "You look hot. But what are you doing here?"
"I had to come with Cecelia."
"Right. Well, instead of standing here, you might as well have some fun."
He dragged me towards the dance floor, before turning around to face me. He was uncomfortably close and his hand was on my waist. I spotted Olivia over Lucas's shoulder, whispering to her friends. Judging from the rude looks they were shooting in my direction, they were gossiping about me. Lucas began dancing and I had no choice but to join in to avoid attracting any more attention to myself.
He laughed, "I didn't know you could dance."
"I can't. This isn't dancing. This is like moving up and down to the music."
"What?" he yelled over the music.
"I said this isn't dancing!" I repeated.
I could tell from the confused expression on his face that he still couldn't hear me. Leaning forward, he stopped when his face was a few inches from mine. I suddenly remembered when he had kissed me in the music shop and I hurriedly leaned back.
"What did you say, Lia?"
"Nothing."
He shrugged, before leading me out of the crowd.
I followed him through the corridor, and we sat down in some chairs near the door.
"It feels like I haven't spoken to you in ages."
I glanced at him before smiling reluctantly, "You spoke to me yesterday."
"You know what I mean. Like properly speak to you.'
