The Key To My Heart (Devan Key)

The scare

I got to the car and Collins was on his phone liking instagram edits of us both.

"Go" I said directly. Not taking my mind off what Megan said.

"Wow dude what happened was it that bad?" Collins asked clapping his hand on my shoulder.

"I said go" I said weakly while slouching and wiping my tears away from my cheeks.

He didn't bother to ask me any more questions after that and I felt bad for snapping at him like that. We drove to the house and I didn't think about anything I just got out of the car left the passenger side door open and ran into the house, up the stairs and into my room making sure to slam and lock the door so no one could come in while i'm feeling sorry for myself.

"Devan you in there" I heard Mom call

"No"

"Ok well whoever is in there tell Devan that food is going to be ready in 15 minutes. We are having pizza"

"Devan asks if we are having Dominos?" I asked playing along

"Yea. Its a special treat because we are moving tomorrow so i just thought it'd be nice"

"See you in 15"

I got on my bed and pulled out my laptop. I clicked on google and went on Youtube. I decided to go back on some of mine and Collins old videos.

"C...O...L...L...I...N...S... ...K...E...Y" I mumbled to myself.

I watched a few videos and felt my eyes get heavy.

I was falling asleep and then i felt something go over my head strongly. I kicked and shouted but nothing before long i could no longer breathe.

I woke up sweating and panting thinking of the dream i just had. I crept out of my bed and over to my door.

"still locked" i whispered and i heard a glass smash down stairs.

i grabbed my baseball bat i got for my 13th birthday and walked back over to the door. I unlocked it keeping the bat tightly in one hand. I tiptoed downstairs and walked quietly into the kitchen. There was no one here.

"hello?" I called.

"Devan?" Collins asked standing up with some of the broken glass.

"Collins? What are you doing up?" I asked him putting the baseball bat down by my side.

"Just getting some water, what about you?"

"nightmare and then i heard the glass smash so i came down here"

"Yeah sorry bro i dropped the glass and it smashed" He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Its fine. Im just going to go back to bed night Collins" I said yawning.

"Night dude" He said continuing with picking up the smashed glass.
