*trigger warning*
Your pov:
"You're a waste of space.""drop dead."
"no one likes you."
"kill yourself."
I took a shaky breath and attempted to hold back the tears as I continued to amble down the halls, pretending that their words didn't crush me. But the truth is, they did; and the scars on my arm explained it.
With my head down, I abruptly sat down in my seat and waited for my English teacher to walk in. English was definitely my favourite subject; expressing myself through words in such articulate ways defiantly a beautiful expression.
I was in the middle of writing my poem when I heard a few gasps and squealing before all the girls got out of their seats, and to the front of the room. Without even looking up, I knew exactly who walked in.
Kim Namjoon
The boy that all the girls wanted to date.
The boy that everyone wants to be friends with.
The boy that doesn't know I exist
The boy I think about every night.
The boy I was crushing on..
I wanted to get to know him better, but he never gave me that time of day.. But why should I care? In his eyes, i'm just some girl that likes him. He has girls practically throwing themselves at him. He wouldn't like a girl like me. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Miss Roseman emerged from the corridor, and into the classroom.
"Okay class, we will be starting Romeo and Juliet this week, and your job is to act out the scenes! I will be picking partners so nobody gets to fight over Namjoon." I cringed at that line. How pathetic.
Everyone groaned as he pulls out his clipboard before skimming through the names.
"Namjoon, i'm gonna pair you up with (Y/N). "
"Who?" Namjoon asked with a confused expression plastered on his flawless face as he scans the room curiously. My heart sank to my stomach as I swallowed my tears. I didn't know why this was hurting me, but then again, I don't know a lot of things.
"Wow Namjoon, good luck with that stupid slut." Jimin, one of his friends teased.
I groaned inwardly as everyone burst into laughter.
"C'mon now, that's just cold. That thing has feelings too." Neymar said whilst chuckling.
I didn't know if he was defending me, or just messing around, but I didn't want to find out.
"Alright class settle down. (Y/N) and Namjoon , you guys will be playing two famous scenes in the book, when Romeo and Juliet met prior to the balcony scene. It's best if you meet up after school to rehearse because you will be performing on Friday."
We both nodded concurrently before he continued to pair people up.
I gazed at Namjoon who was still scanning the room, looking for me. When his eyes landed on me, a spazzam of shock crossed over his face, but he forced a smile. He then scribbled something down on a sheet of paper, and passed it to me.
"Hey (Y/N), nice to meet you. rehearse after school? Your place or mine?"
My pen hovered over the paper as I thought about my reply. Finally, I wrote down the address to my house and passed it back to him, ignoring the funny looks people were giving me. Misses Rosemen started lecturing us about where Romeo and Juliet was originated and how Shakespeare was inspired. But all I could think about was being face to face with Namjoon later today. I've been wanting to talk to him, and now I have my chance..
