Three days pass...

It was a few days after the emergency newscast and the news anchor was still giving updates from the military.

Me, my mother and my pets were currently watching one of these updates and we had been barricaded in our home for the past three days.

The anchorman was visibly corrupted. His tie was now disheveled and his suit jacket was off while his shirt was stained with pit stains. His hair was so greasy it was sticking to his bald patch. He also had really dark circles and that general crazy look.

"Day 3 of... This fuckery!" He slammed his fist onto the table.

"Everything is terrible. I saw.. Get this right.. I saw through that window right that behind me... I saw a little girl get attacked.. This girl looked to be an eight year old.. This is fucking INSANITY! I dont understand why scientists can be so fucking STUPID! They want to conduct stupid tests because their "curious what will happen" well its time they understand that we are not fucking children. We need to know what our boundaries are. Why would they think it would possibly be a good idea to create monsters that could even possibly overrun this world and cause destruction!" He was shaking angrily.

"And everyone at home watching. You should've left when you had the chance.
Because now.." He laughed maniacally. "We are all dead."

"I should be at home with my family. My little girl. My HUSBAND. I don't know where they are.. I don't know if they're alive or dead or worse... I wish I could've been with them to say goodbye. I don't see humans surviving this. But I'm stuck here giving out false reys of hope. The military... They're not coming. Repeat.. They're not coming. Everyone's a fucking liar.." He was now slouched in his seat.

Poor bastard.

He started sobbing to himself. Poor guy...this is just such a shitty situation. I shook my head. My eyes began to water as i felt this overwhelming sense of doom.

"We're all going to die." I cried to my mother.. Holding it in for so long has been so hard... All i had was the hope of the military rescuing us.. To find out its all a lie is devastating. My mother hugs me and gently rubs my back as I soak her jumper with my sweat, tears and snot. That was the most real anyone had been I guess.

The screen began to flash. I noticed this due to the sudden change of lighting. One minute it was lit the next almost pitch black. There goes the lights. I looked up to see the news man staring behind the camera... As if someone was there for him.

"Fuck..." He whispered. Next thing one of those things I had yet to see appeared from right behind the man and bit him right on the side of his neck... He pulled out a chunk of his neck with his mouth. The mans face suddenly went from this crazy old dude to a crazy old dude in serious fucking pain. It was weird seeing someone die. It was so fast I couldn't see the things face.

Its as of you can see their spirit leave their body. Their eyes drain color, their body goes completely lifeless. Me and my mother in obvious shock our jaws were dropped, tears still falling from my swollen eyes.

What. The. Heck?

That was on live television.... Everyone is watching this that still has a working tv.. This is the only thing available to watch anywhere. Hell I could even hear it on the radio if I wanted. I stared blankly at the screen confused and really fucking nervous.

I could see the thing, man whatever it was zombie? I don't know... Its head was peering up from behind the desk. He slowly raised his head and turned his view towards the camera... staring right back at me... Its eyes weren't normal.. they were really red with a few red splotches of...blood? It was a bald man who I had never seen before.. maybe he was a cameraman for the news, maybe he was an assistant who busted his ass for this place to no avail. Maybe he was some random dude who stumbled into the building. Whoever he was... he was someone who someone cared about. His full face was in view now. His hand rested on the desk as he lifted himself off of the ground from under the desk where the news mans body was. He had blood dripping from his mouth.

It was a dark red and there was a lot of it splurring out. I could see the blood already staining this mans teeth. He licked his lips and raised his hand to wipe some of the blood away, he then proceeded to lick his fingers. I couldn't believe it. What am I seeing? This cannot be real.

He then smiled. Yes he fucking smiled. He was so happy with himself knowing that he just killed a man in front of people. I mean why else would he smile like that right? And they said they were smart right? He must know what a camera is. He walked towards the camera and I finally got a full frontal view of this man. He was wearing a white hoodie and some plain blue jeans. His once white hoodie is now stained with blood and dirt.

I shook my head in disbelief. My mother was squeezing my hand so tight I didn't realize she was holding it until she started squeezing. He swung his arm and Oi think he punched the camera off of its tripod and all that we could see now was the anchor mans corpse face. Suddenly, he twitched. There was so much blood I couldn't take it. I had to look away. Then all I heard was static then... nothing.

I had buried my face into my mothers arms while she comforted me. But how was she supposed to comfort me when she needed it herself. We were officially a mess and full of despair. We were already running low on food, there was nothing we could do, but pray. I'm not a believer, neither was my mother but its the only thing that we could do in that moment to feel better.
