Waking up

Before anyone's day begins, they first have to wake up. For some, this is easy and they make pancakes as the birds are singing! For others, mornings are hell on earth and they must aggressively hit the snooze button thirty thousand times before realizing that they are running late and/or drowning in a pool of stinky drool.
As you can probably tell, I have a bit more experience with the latter...
But this time was just a bit different-
I groggily withdrew from my dream (which I had already forgotten) due to the sound of my alarm clock ringing, when I heard it be smacked by someone else. And when I opened my eyes and rolled over to see who, there was no one there that I could see.
Wait, that was a lie. I could see something in the corner. Something that looked like a giant version of my bean bag chair at first glance - until I saw it was breathing.
And it had feathers and fur and a tail and teeth and claws and wings and was curled up in the corner of my room sleeping like a cat AND... let's just say I was barely even on my bed anymore, I had backed so far up.
In fact, I was no longer on my bed less than two seconds after completing my list of terrifying observations.
I fell to the ground with a yelp! This alerted both the monster and my mom to the fact that I was now awake. Double trouble.
"Kiddo? You okay?" Came the voice of my mom from downstairs.
Oh I'm fine! Really! There's just an actual real life MONSTER IN MY ROOM! My mom opened the door and I got up to try to warn her but then...
"Oh! I see you've met Natofe! Remember? We took in a transfer student from Mand? I'm sorry to put her in here, but the rest of the house is a mess and your father crashed on the couch last night!" My mom casually explained this as if there was no terrifying creature in my room - just a normal person. Except, when I looked over to where the creature was... all I saw was a normal looking teenage girl! Her skin was slowly changing from a midnight black to a skin tone similar to mine, but that was common among the color changing race. What was not normal is changing to or from a gosh darn MONSTER!
"Tewu Natofe! Duug bufam! Sube gulam ruf, well... breakfast!" my mom said to the girl. "Tracy? Are you okay?" asked my mom, seeing as I was still crouching behind my bed.
"Wha- yeah! I guess so, just tired," I replied, not really telling the truth. Maybe I was just tired... Maybe it was just part of my dream?
But no matter what I told myself, I just couldn't shake the image from before. The amount of detail I remembered, the clarity of the face - her face! Was it just a dream?

Because the people in my dream NEVER have faces...
