Have you ever tried to shut up your brain? It's not that easy, let me tell ya. My brain was still stuck on the events from earlier, and so I didn't notice my mom asking me to pass the syrup until she shouted it at me!
"OY!" she barked, snapping me out of my thoughts to realise that I was slouching so much that my hair was in my syrup!
"Honey are you okay? You've been a bit... out of it today," my mom fussed over me while Natofe continued to eat after determining that the 'OY' was not directed at her.
"Yeah, I'm just really tired today for some reason and I'm spacing out a lot more than usual!" I respond in a semi-cheerful tone. In truth, I had spent the last five minutes ignoring the food and trying to convince myself that what I saw wasn't real. "If it's all right, I'm going to take a shower real quick before we go out,"
"Wait! Aren't you going to finish your pancakes?" my mom asked.
"Nah, save it for tomorrow!" I hoped she wouldn't throw it out, I actually like day old pancakes! They're still pancakes!!!
Once I started my shower, I started to think. Okay, there's no way she can be a monster without noticing it, right? That leaves two possibilities: either she knows and she's hiding the fact that she's trying to kill us all, or she doesn't know and she's being possessed! My only course of action right now has to be figuring out which one.And fast...
And with that, I set in motion a plan to find out the truth about my new roommate!
After I finish washing my hair... (so sticky)!
