[Ronnie's P.O.V.]

I was yelling at her, verbally abusing her... She stood strong somehow, so I screamed she was a whore. She was lazy. She was a waste of life. "You're a whore! You go gallivanting – instead of staying in the kitchen – because you have daddy issues! Your dad probably left you and your mom because you were annoying!" At that point, Aria broke down crying. She practically fell to the floor, yelling back at me for once, "Stop, Ronnie! Just stop!!"

I saw through her act, "Stop with the self-pity, Aria!"

She started sobbing, "Shut up!!! You don't know me!! You don't know my dad!! You don't know ANYTHING about us! So just shut the fuck up!!!" I watched as she brought her hands to her face. She was so beautiful when she cried. Beautiful and vulnerable. But this time, I got the sudden urge to hold her. To make her pain go away...

What the fuck are you THINKING, Ronnie?! She's your step-sister! You torment her because it's FUNNY when she cries!!

No it's not... It never was...

What was wrong with me?!

Aria was crying so hard and for so ling that she was coughing. "Aria..." I pulled her into my arms, finally showing her I cared. She scrambled away, coughing words out, "Go away! Don't touch me..." She trailed off, almost as if she was giving up.

"I'm sorry, Ari... I really am..."

She ran upstairs, "No you're not! You NEVER are! You're never sorry!!" With that, she slammed her bedroom door. I sighed, frowning, and decided I'd make dinner for once. I owed her...

I knew we had steak, so I pulled it out of the fridge to make sure it was thawed. That's when my did and step-mom walked in. "Steak, Son?" My dad looked at me curiously, so I kind of covered it up, "Ari had a bad day... I wanted to make it up to her."

"I suggest mashed potatoes too. She loves those. A little lumpy," my step-mom smiled, knowing exactly how Aria liked her food.

"Good to know... Thanks."

Dad started talking again, "Well we're going out to dinner. We'll be out late."

"Okay. Have fun. We'll be good."

"See you in the morning," Dad took Aria's mom by the waist and they left. So I started cooking for Aria.
