Link's POV

I wake up with an immense pounding in my skull. I slowly open my eyes, letting in slivers of light. I let out a hissing noise. The light makes my head pound harder.

I slowly ease them open and inspect myself carefully.  A bruised elbow, a semi-deep cut on my ankle, a bruise on my jaw and an aching in my heart.

I sit up halfway and lean back on my elbows, on one more than the other because of the bruise. I'm in a field of sorts, with tall, soft, deep green grass. I could lay in the grass forever, but I have to get back. I have to find him.

I see my loftwing a few feet away, not moving. I close my eyes once again. Henry. I will kill him.

I ease myself into a standing postition and almost instantly my knees buckle and I'm down again.

My body aches and I'm so tired. Anger and hatred are the only things that pull me back on my feet.

I stagger foward, toward a line of tall, lush green trees. The cut on my ankle burns, and my jaw aches horribly, but I have to keep going. For her.

A stabbing pain rips through my chest, almost sending me down yet again. Is that what heartbreak feels like?

No one came. No one noticed I was gone. This angers me. I should be noticed. I wasn't insignificant!

"HEY!" I scream into the brilliantly blue sky. "I'M RIGHT HERE! NOTICE ME!"

Of course, no one came. What did I expect?

I expected Zelda to come. I expected her to come back for me, to love me again. Again? That's laughable. She never even loved me in the first place.

My heart aches more and I fight to swallow the lump in my throat. Did that night mean nothing to her? Did I mean nothing to her?

"Goddammit." I muttered. "I loved you, with every fiber of my being. I really loved you."

I close my eyes and imagine her. Her blond hair, so brilliant it seemed as if she was wearing sunshine of her head. Her eyes, how they glittered like stars in a dark night sky. She was the star to the dark night I called my life.

But Henry was her star. Dammit, he might as well be her freaking universe, the way she looked at him.

Forget both of them.

But I couldn't. Not either one. The hatred I had for Henry and the love I would only feel for Zelda.

I saw dark gray clouds roll in, out of nowhere. Thunder crashed, along with the heavy scent that promised rain.

I ran. Well, limped mostly. Thunder crashed once again and rain poured. It was cold heavy, like my heart. I feel hot raindrops fall on my cheeks. No, those were tears.

I seeked refuge in the trees. I leaned against the thick trunk of a tree and breathed. Maybe I just needed time to breathe. To figure out the crushed and crumpled pieces that were my life, ready to break at any time.

The storm has started.

Third person~ Henry and Zelda

"Henry, I am worried, Link has not come back!" Zelda took in deep breaths.

"My love, he needs time sort his feelings out, that is all." Henry said, taking Zelda's hands and softly kissing them.

"Sort out his feelings? What feelings do you speak of?" She asked, running her dainty fingers through golden hair.

"Oh, Zelda," Henry laughed, taking her in his arms. "His feelings for you."

"H-he had feelings for me?" She asked in a hushed whisper.

"It was only obvious." He smiled. "But he'll surely get over them. All's fair in love and war."

Zelda looked at him warily. "Who said anything of war?"

"Oh," Henry said wistfully. "No one."
